Dear Patient, New Appointment System - TRIAL
Royal Manor Health Care is currently looking at all ways to improve patient access at this time due to clinical staff shortages, as a result we are going to trial a change to the appointment system.
On Monday, Thursday and Friday mornings the practice will run a ‘Walk in and Wait’ surgery at the Easton Surgery. PLEASE BE AWARE OF THE FOLLOWING:
- Patients who cannot access a book on the day appointment will be offered the chance to attend the practice and wait until called
- These appointments can only be accessed by patients who are in need of urgent and unscheduled care only
- These sessions will only be for new episodes of care and cannot accommodate appointments for follow ups
- Appointment for follow up treatment such as blood results or on-going health problems will need to be booked in the usual manner
- You cannot book into these clinics via the telephone and you will only be included on the waiting list if you physically attend the surgery
- On arrival please give your name to the receptionist and youwill thenbe given an indication to how long you are likely to wait to see the doctor.Please be aware that this may be longer than usual.
- Walk in and Wait surgeries will run from 08:30, however if you arrive after 10:30 there may be a chance that the GP will not have enough time to see you.
As with any new trial the practice will continue to monitor the situation and your feedback would be very welcome.
We are hoping this will assist patients whilst we recruit into our clinical vacancies.
In this regard we are pleased to announce that the practice has recruited a new nurse practitioner who will start with us in May 2015. We also welcome Dr Hills who provides a locum service on Monday mornings.
