It comes with great pleasure to invite you to Peace Lutheran Church’s Annual Fall Youth Retreat for youth in Grades 7-12. The dates are: October 14, 15, and 16, 2016.
The theme this year is: “The Christ Files – The Truth Is Out There”
Because we live in a place filled with many different ideas, opinions, and world views, it is important for us to know the truth, where we can find it, and how we know that it is the real truth. We find that truth in God’s Word as Jesus says, “I am the way and the truth and the life.” -John 14:6. Come and join us for a weekend spent in God’s Word where we will learn about our faith, how you know that it is true, and how we can defend our faith to others, especially non-Christians, when they ask us questions. Youth are encouraged to bring all of their questions with them, and we will discuss them over the course of our time together!
We are also excited to announce that on Saturday and Sunday we will be blessed with the presence of a Jesus Painter. We will be having a Jesus Painter join us for a special community event on Saturday evening, as well as during our worship service on Sunday morning. If you have never heard of a Jesus Painter let me tell you briefly: art is their gift, their ministry, and the medium by which they impact the Kingdom for God’s greater glory. Art is their way of bringing faith to life in living color. And while we can only attain an incomplete picture of God’s true glory, they are dedicated to painting the most powerful portrait they can find this side of eternity. The Registration Deadline is Friday, October 7, and when you come to Peace please have a cheque (payable to Peace Lutheran Youth Group) along with your Individual Registration forms (for youth), Group Registration Form (to be filled out by leaders), and Waiver Forms (for youth).
Cost is $65 for Youth and $25 for Leaders.
We will be taking a FREE WILL OFFERING during the weekend to support the Jesus Painter ministry.

IN CONSIDERATION OF being permitted to participate in the Peace Youth Retreat – “The Christ Files – The Truth Is Out There,” I the undersigned participant, hereby release and undertake and agree to save harmless and keep indemnified Peace Lutheran Church hereinafter referred to as Peace, the youth leaders, organizers and youth counselors from and against all claims, actions, costs and expenses and demands whatsoever in respect of death, injury, loss or damage to my person or property, howsoever caused, arising out of or in connection with my participation in the retreat and regardless of whether same may have been contributed to or occasioned by the negligence of the retreat, its youth leaders, organizers and counselors.
IF THE PARTICIPANT is under eighteen (18) years of age, in consideration of the participant being permitted to engage and take part in the retreat and its programming offered, carried on, sanctioned or sponsored by Peace, the undersigned parent or guardian of the participant hereby releases and undertakes and agrees to save harmless and keep indemnified Peace, its youth leaders, organizers and counselors from and against all claims, actions, costs and expenses and demands whatsoever in respect of death, injury, loss or damage to the person or property of the participant, howsoever caused, regardless of whether same may have been contributed to or occasioned by the negligence of the retreat, Peace, youth leaders, organizers and counselors.
Also, the parent or guardian, agrees to permit the use of photos and/or videos of the participant in promoting the church or church activities and programs (These pictures/videos are to be used for promoting the church activities and programs on our website, Facebook page, etc. [no names attached]). If you do not wish to give permission for this, simply cross off and initial this section.
It is hereby acknowledged that the contents hereof are fully understood by the participant (and parent/guardian) who agree(s) that same shall be binding upon (his/her/their) heirs, successors, executors, administrators and assigns.
