Dear Parents/Carers and Students
I am delighted that so many students are involved with the school dance production “Expressions”. This year promises to be a successful show judging by the auditions and the year groups’ dance rehearsals. This can only be possible with dedication and hard work for the whole of this half term.
It is vital that students read the “Expressions” notice board regularly in the PE block giving up-to-date information about rehearsals. I cannot possibly speak to all students individually.
The following is a list of important dates for the show. Please can you ensure that you are definitely available for all technical and dress rehearsals and of course the performances. Any issues see me immediately.
On the following Saturdays and Sundays, most students will be required to attend for some or all of the day:
Saturday 27th January, Sunday 28th January, Saturday 3rd February and Sunday 4th February
The following is a list of final rehearsals which you MUST attend:
Thursday, 11th, 16th, 23rd January and Thursday 1st February
Rehearsal 3.20 – 5.00 pm All dancers until 4.30pm then selected groups until 5pm – see notice board
Saturday 27th January All dancers in ACT 1 – technical rehearsal
Sunday 28th January All dancers in ACT 2 – technical rehearsal
Saturday 3rd February 10.00 am – 4.00 pm – Full technical run through - All dancers
Sunday 4th February 10.00 am – 1.00 pm – Full technical run through
All dancers (costumes to be finalised)
Monday, 5th February 1.40pm - 5pm – Full Dress Rehearsal
Tuesday, 6th February Evening Performance – To be in school at 6:30
Wednesday, 7th February Evening Performance - To be in school at 6:30
Thursday, 8th February Evening performance - To be in school at 6:30
It is difficult to set exact times of rehearsals at this stage, however dancers will be able to leave the first weekend of rehearsals once they have finished their dances.
Hoodies are available for all dancers to purchase at a cost of £16.50. If your daughter would like a hoodie the attached slip must be completed and returned to me or Mrs Turner by Tuesday 9th January. The cost will then go on Parent Pay to be paid by Friday 12th January.
