ADMISSION:

Dear Parents and Guardians,

You are seeking admission for your daughter in St. Columba. We wish to assist you in this regard. The admission is based on successfully completing the admission procedures and formalities.

St. Columba Pre-Primary and Primary Section is an Unaided Private Christian Minority School run by the John Wilson Education Society. Provisions of RTE Act on Admissions are not applicable to Minority Schools.

The school believes in absolute transparency with regards to admissions. The Admission Committee reserves its rights on issues regarding admission. Admissions are based on the criteria set up by the school management.

Parents and Guardians should understand that any wrong information on the application form results in disqualification. Do not send or bring recommendation or request letters regarding admission as it will only amount to rejection of application. Kindly do not insist on meeting the school authorities concerning such matters.

The school does not accept any favours by way of donation. We advise the parents to stay away from people who promise admission in exchange of money. Submission of the application form does not confirm admission but it is subject to availability of seats and fulfilling the admission criteria.

PROCEDURE:

·  Admission forms are issued only for the following sections of the Pre Primary Section.

·  The eligibility and age restriction for each class is in accordance with the rules set by the education department. Parents have to comply with the regulation.

·  The payment made while taking the form is non-refundable, nor does it guarantee admission to the school.

·  The forms are issued every year in November/December. This notice is put up in the school and on its website, with that year’s time and date, annually.

·  The parents are requested to fill up the form correctly.

·  The date and time for the meeting with the Headmistress will be indicated on the application form.

·  Both parents have to accompany the child and no other person will be allowed to meet the Headmistress.

·  Further notices will be given after the meeting.

·  Admission for Sr.Kg, Primary and Secondary is subject to availability of seats.

·  The number of seats available for admission is put up in the school every year in the month of May.

DOCUMENTS:

·  Original Application Form duly filled and signed.

·  Original Birth Certificate issued by the Municipality/Municipal Corporation.

·  Christians/Catholic children will produce their baptism certificate.

FEES:

·  The child has to pay fees in all classes from Toddlers to Std IV. No concession or freeship will be granted by the school management.

·  Admission will be valid only if the fee is paid in full on the due date along with the necessary documents and certificates.

·  Parents unable to pay the fees for some unforeseen circumstances must inform the Headmistress and specify the date when they will be able to pay, failing to which the child will not be admitted to the class.

·  The student copy of payment slips and receipts of fees have to be kept safely for future use and scrutiny.
