However, due to the nature of Social Sport competitions, some changes or additions have been made. These are listed below:

2Duration

2.1Preliminary and finals-2 x 20minute halves with a 2 minute half-time

3Players

3.1The maximum number of players on field at any given time is five (5) one of whom shall be the goalkeeper

3.2Minimum number of players on field without incurring a forfeit is four (4)

For mixed competition only:

Min / Max
Male / 1 / 3
Female / 2 / 4

3.3If a team has an incorrect ratio, it either plays:

3.3.1With fewer total players -three(3) male and one(1) female

3.3.2Or a ‘friendly’ game with the incorrect ratio, assuming an automatic loss but avoiding a forfeit fine. The referee and both team managersmust agree on the automatic loss prior to the start of the game

In both circumstances, both teams will still need to pay a game fee

4Forfeits

4.1If a team forfeits a 5-0 victory is recorded for their opposition

4.2All forfeits must be communicated with the UWA Social Sports officer. Contact details can be found at

4.3If the notice given for a forfeit is less than 48 hours in advance, the offending team will lose their forfeit bond on their first offence, and be charged $45 for every forfeit thereafter.

5Player equipment

5.1All players are required to wear a team uniform consisting of same coloured tops and same coloured bottoms by the third game of the season

5.2Bibs will be provided where there is a clash of uniform colours. Team managers will rock, paper, scissors to determine which team will wear bibs

5.3All players must remove objects such as watches/jewellery (taping of facial jewellery is expected) that may be dangerous to other players. A wedding band or a medic alert bracelet may be worn, but must be appropriately taped. Players will not be allowed onto the field until they comply

5.4Nails must be cut or appropriately taped. Players will not be allowed onto the field until they comply

5.5UWA Sport will NOT provide strapping tape or nail clippers. This is the responsibility of the participant.

5.6No studs of any kind are permitted on the superturf

5.7Shinguards are not compulsory but are strongly recommended

6Substitution of players

6.1During the course of the game, each team may use an unlimited number of substitutes. Substitutions may

take place only during breaks in play and with the permission of the referee.

7To Play

7.1All weekly game fees must be paid prior to the start of scheduled games and the receipt given to relevant umpires. NO RECEIPT=NO GAME.

7.2Not only does it keep the other team waiting, late starts affect the whole evening’s fixtures times, therefore the clock will start running at the scheduled time. If a team is late, they will be penalized accordingly and the game will go on.

7.2.11-5 minutes- 1 goal

7.2.25-10 minutes- 2 goals

7.2.310-15 minutes- 3 goals

7.3Games will be forfeited if a team is not ready to play within fifteen (15) minutes of scheduled starting time

8Suspensions and Ejections

8.1Incidents of a dangerous or unsportsmanlike nature that are reported by the umpire or an opposing team will be taken seriously

8.2A warning will be issued to offending player/team and umpires have the right to remove a player/teamshould further incidents occur during the game. All incidents will be reported to the Social Sport Co-ordinator.

Cards

8.3A player will be shown a yellow card, as a warning for misconduct, for actions including non-sportsmanlike behaviour, dissent by word or action, persistent infringement of the laws of the game, delaying the restart, or deliberately leaving the pitch without the referee’s permission

8.4A player will be shown a red card for being guilty of serious foul play, violent conduct, spitting, using offensive, insulting or abusive language, or if they receive a second caution in the match.

8.5If a player commits a second yellow card offence within the same game, or commits a red card offence - they must exit the game IMMEDIATELY (not to be replaced by another player) and they may be suspended from the following week's play.

8.6Further action may be taken for serious incidents and repeat offenders. All information regarding the incident will be taken into account and a decision on an appropriate resulting action will be made by the Social Sports Co-ordinator in consultation with senior members of staff. Actions may include suspension of a player or withdrawal of a team

8.7Should a team wish to make a formal complaint their team manager should do so in writing to the Social Sport Coordinator within 24 hours

9Finals Procedures

9.1In the event of a draw in the final fixtures, the winner will be decided by penalties

9.2Teams will select five (5) players and will alternate taking penalties

9.3If scores are still tied, ‘sudden’ death penalties will apply. The same players must take the penalties in the original order

9.4Players sent off during regular time cannot take part in penalties

10General Rules

10.1 No slide tackles are permitted
