Dear Parent/Guardian,

We are delighted to inform you that we run an Into Film film club in our school. It is a chance for your child to experience a variety of films in a safe, happy and structured setting. They can also use the Into Film website www.filmclub.org to search for the films they want to watch at future showings, submit reviews and enter exciting competitions!

Normally we will show films that are suitable for your children’s age, however from time to time we may show a higher certification than your child’s age group, that we deem suitable and appropriate. For example, a PG rating. Film classifications are explained below. For more details, visit the www.bbfc.co.uk

Film Classifications

U Suitable for audiences aged four years and over. U films should be set within a positive moral framework and should offer reassuring counterbalances to any violence, threat or horror.

PG Parental Guidance – General viewing, but some scenes may be unsuitable for young children

12 Suitable for 12 years and over. Responsibility for allowing under-

12A to view lies with the accompanying or supervising adult. Suitable only for 15 years+

I am happy for my child/children to:

•take part in the film club

•be filmed and photographed with the view that this footage may be used in the future for our own website and regional/national press

•consume refreshments at the film club

•watch a PG film/classification above my child’s age if deemed suitable for showing at the film club

•take part in Into Film film club trips (We will let you know details of trips before they happen but you may give your consent here first)

•have their name/DOB put on the FILMCLUB website so they can access the site

•upload reviews on the FILMCLUB website

•participate in visits to the school film club from Into Film guests
