HEMPFIELD AREA CHEERLEADING
Dear Parent / Guardian / Student,
Below you will find information about upcoming cheerleading tryouts for the 2012-2013 school year.
Squad Information:
~9th Grade Squad will have a total of 15 members
~Junior Varsity Squad will have a total of 10 members
~Varsity Squad will have a total of 20 members
~Each squad will have a captain and co-captain
~This is subject to change due to ties
Tryout Practices:
Tuesday, April 24th at 4-6 pm at STANDWOOD ELEMENTARY
~All members will learn ALL material
Wednesday, April 25th at 4-6 pm at HARROLD MIDDLE SCHOOL
~All material will be perfected/motions/voice/facials
~Jumps and Tumbling will be looked at by coaches
Thursday, April 26th at 4-6 pm in the HIGH SCHOOL GYMNASIUM
~Numbers of partners will be selected randomly and time will be given to practice with partner
~Mock tryouts will be conducted so that each girl knows the procedure
Tryouts:
Friday, April 27th
~Tryouts will begin at approximately 3:15 pm in the HIGH SCHOOL GYMNASIUM
~Varsity squad 1st, JV squad 2nd and 9th Grade squad 3rd
~All girls must wear hair pulled up, no jewelry, tennis shoes, a plain white t-shirt and royal blue soffe shorts
~Girls should get changed in the field house lobby restroom, and remain in the lobby until they tryout
~Once cheerleaders tryout, they may leave, girls are NOT permitted to wait inside the fieldhouse for scores
~Members who made the squads will be posted on the cheerleading website at approximately 7:00 pm
Captain Information:
~If you would like to try-out for the captain of the 9th grade squad, you must have cheered in 7th AND 8th grade.
~If you would like to try-out for a captain of the JV squad, you must have cheered a minimum of 2 years.
~If you would like to try-out for a captain of the Varsity squad, you MUST be a senior and cheered a minimum of 3 years
~Captain will be judged by their tryout score, captain cheer score, captain questionnaire score and coaches score
~Highest total combined score will be selected as captain and second highest as co-captain.
~Captain tryouts will take place after each respective squad
