Rationale:
· Raise academic achievement by making up-to-date and useful resources more accessible.
· Use resources which are specifically designed for revising NCEA style questions.
· Provide discounted study resources.
· Efficient and timely resource ordering and distribution.
Process:
1. You complete remittance slip below & return with money to front office.
2. Mr Shiu will manage and organise all orders.
3. Final day for orders is Thursday 30th June 2016.
4. Distribution to students via form teachers.
There are many resources available these days, much of which is available online for free:
New Zealand
· NZQA. www.ncea.govt.nz Starting point for resources for NCEA Level 1, 2, 3 or Scholarship. Once you get to the home page click on subject specific resources and bookmark on your computer.
· StudyIt www.studyit.org.nz. Hugely valuable NZ site that is checked by several teachers. Primarily for English, Maths and Science but has other subjects as well.
· St Dominic’s College Ultranet http://stdominicscollege.ultranet.school.nz/ Subject specific resources, in particular the Sciences.
· Learn Coach www.learncoach.co.nz Free online tutorials and workbooks for NCEA Level 1, 2 & 3 Maths & Sciences
· No Brain Too Small www.nobraintoosmall.co.nz. Useful for NCEA Level 1, 2 & 3, as well as Junior Science(s).
· Delene Holm https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCWne16NxYF8JiBimyF2cDMQ/playlists. You Tube Video series for learning NCEA Level 3 Chemistry.
International
· Fuse School Free education for anyone, anywhere provided through animated, bitesize videos. All content is available for free at www.fuseschool.org.
· Khan Academy World-class education for anyone, anywhere. All Khan Academy content is available for free at www.khanacademy.org
· S-Cool http://www.s-cool.co.uk/ The free revision website for students studying UK GCSE (i.e. 15-16 yrs) & A-levels (i.e. 17+ yrs). S-cool provides revision guides, question banks, revision timetable and more.
· BBC School BiteSize http://www.bbc.co.uk/education The free revision website for students studying UK KS3(11-14 yrs) & GCSE (15-16 yrs). Bitesize provides learner guides, test questions and video clips etc.
· Crash Course www.youtube.com/user/crashcourse/about Tons of awesome courses in Anatomy, Physiology, Astronomy, US Government & Politics and Economics. Also, World History, Biology, Literature, Ecology, Chemistry, Psychology, and US History.
· Tyler DeWitt https://www.youtube.com/user/tdewitt451/about Excellent videos for learning Chemistry
· Physics Classroom www.physicsclassroom.com. This US-based resource is great for learning and revising NCEA Level 1-3 Physics.
However, you can purchase the latest commercial study resources for NZ NCEA Levels 1, 2 & 3 and Scholarship. These resources are ordered in bulk and therefore at a discounted rate, which we will pass onto you (with a tiny admin fee of $1/order). Available resources are:
