Dear Homeowners,
The annual Holiday Isle Homeowners’ Association Meeting is fast approaching. You will be receiving more details over the next few days by mail, but in the meantime to assist you in planning, we wanted to provide you with a schedule, and share some information about the meeting and related activities.
Because many of us will be gathering from out of town, our Hospitality Committee will host an Owners’ Meet & Greet on Friday evening, April 29th beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the Owners’ Lounge. You are invited to bring your favorite snack to share. Soft drinks and paper goods will be provided. Bring your favorite adult beverage.
Because there has been so much interest in our insurance coverage, and in telephone, Internet, and television services during past meetings, we are arranging special informational meetings with these vendors Saturday morning prior to the annual meeting. This will provide an opportunity to learn more about these services and to ask questions and discuss issues or concerns with the providers.
Mark Guidry, TotalCom USA, will be in the Owners’ Lounge at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 30 to discuss our new telephone, television, and Internet system. If you have specific questions or issues that need advance research, you are encouraged to email Mark in advance at
Debbie Freeman and Brenda Sturges from Gambrell and Sturges Insurance will be in the Owners’ Lounge at 11:00 a.m. to discuss our master insurance policy, and answer questions about other forms of insurance including HO6 policies. To ensure that they are prepared to fully address your questions, you are encouraged to email them in advance at .
The Homeowners’ Meeting will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the Owners’ Lounge. As required by the bylaws, we will ratify the annual budget, elect two people to serve on the Board of Directors, vote on any proposed amendments to the bylaws, hear reports from the board, and address any old or new business. For those unable to be present on the island, but who would like to monitor the meetings remotely, we plan to provide a live webcast of the meeting and information sessions, and will archive recordings to the Holiday Isle website. The live feed and recordings will be available in the “Owners’ Section” of our website (TheHolidayIsle.com) under “Annual Owners’ Meeting & Board Elections.”
For those planning to stay on the island the following Saturday, May 7, the Hospitality Committee is hosting a Kentucky Derby Party in the Owners' Lounge starting at 4:00 p.m. Owners are asked to bring party foods to share and any "adult beverages" of their choice. The race will run at 5:30 p.m., and we will, of course, sing "My Old Kentucky Home" and then watch the race on the big TV in the lounge. We encourage everyone to wear a Derby Hat, if they choose, and come ready to participate in this wonderful Kentucky tradition.
