Dear Head of Chambers and Senior Clerk,

This is just a reminder to let us know if you would like to promote your members’ expertise by listing your services in the Barristers in International Arbitration brochure. Please note that the cut-off date to let us know if you would like to do so is Wednesday 8 March.

The aim of the brochure is to raise awareness among overseas clients, including foreign law firms, governments and in-house legal departments, of their ability to instruct the Bar directly on international arbitrations and of the advantages to the client of doing so.The brochure has enjoyed increasing support from the profession and proven popular at many events, such as the International Bar Association Conference, the Bar Council’s business development events such as Russian and English Law Week, and the Bar Council’s recent trade missions to Cyprus, South Korea and China, to name but a few.

The information provided in the brochure will remain largely the same as in the previous editions which you can find by clicking here. However, we recently re-designed our international publications to provide key information in a clear and concise format which was very well received by all who read the most recent brochures. Please click here to view.

The A5-sized brochure will contain two parts. The first part will outline how barristers work, how to instruct them, what services they offer in international arbitration and explain the competitive advantages offered (such as unrivalled excellence in advocacy, independence and cost savings compared to law firms). Please note that the brochure, in line with the Bar Council’s strategic objectives, will focus only on promoting barristers as legal representatives, not as arbitrators.

The second part of the brochure will carry a user-friendly directory of barristers’ chambers by specialist sectors. You may list your set under those sectors in whichmembers of your Chambers have specialised. Each listing will contain the Chambers’ name, and there will be an index of participating Chambers with full contact details including website address. There will be no other adverts or articles. There will be a small charge of £125 (plus VAT) per sector listing and we are pleased to offer youa25%discount for listing in five sectors or more.
