Dear Friends of Cub Scouts,
As the song goes….”It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year”…. Scouting Year that is. The Pinewood Derby season is well underway and is the most exciting event of the Cub Scouts’ year. It is indeed my pleasure and honor to be a part of this wonderful hands-on character building program for young boys in our country and more specifically, the Seven Rivers District. The Seven Rivers District serves boys of ages 6 to 12 from the Southeastern Massachusetts towns of Bellingham, Foxboro, Franklin, Medfield, Medway, Millis, Norfolk, Norwood, Plainville, Walpole, and Wrentham. For many, this will be their first experience with woodworking, racing and sportsmanship.
After completion of the 29 Pack Level Derby Races in the 11 towns, they will send their best racers and car designers to the District Level race which will be held March 21, 2015 at Bass Pro Shops located at Patriot Place in Foxboro, MA. The cost of running this event can be quite expensive; however we try to run an educational, hands-on, fun-for-everyone event where the boys go home with recognition for all their efforts. We are seeking your support to help make this the best event ever.
