Ursuline High School Scores on Advanced Placement Exams
The Ursuline High School Class of 2017 (109 members strong) produced 10 Advanced Placement (AP) Scholars – 1 National AP Scholar, 4 AP Scholars with Distinction, 2 AP Scholars with Honors and 3 AP Scholars. Ursuline High School offers 17 AP courses. The AP curriculum, administered by the College Board, consists of standardized high school courses that are roughly equivalent to undergraduate college courses. After completing an AP class, students take the AP exam in that subject which can earn them credits and accelerated placement in college.
Felicity He earned the prestigious title of National AP Scholar by taking more than 8 exams and earning a 4 or 5 (the highest score on the test) on each AP exam. During her time at Ursuline, Felicity took 11 AP exams: Comparative Government, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Psychology, US Government, US History, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Statistics, Chemistry and Physics. She will continue her education at Queens University (Canada).
Marie Bond, Aaron Coates, Patrick Conway and James Kerrigan earned the title of AP Scholar with Distinction for earning at least a 3.5 on all exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on five or more exams. Marie, Patrick and James will attend the University of Notre Dame while Aaron will enroll at Northwestern University.
Olexa Bunofsky and Frank Sobnosky earend the AP Scholar with Honors award for receiving at least a 3.25 on all AP exams taken and a score of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams. Olexa will attend the West Virginia University. Frank will continue his studies at Youngstown State University.
Anise Alghamee, Nicolas Beike and Kennedy Romeo have been named AP Scholars. These students received a 3 or higher on three or more exams. Anise will attend the Ohio State University. Nic and Kennedy will attend YSU.
The students belong to the following parishes: Marie Bond (Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica/ Saint Dominic), Aaron Coates (Saint Rose), Patrick Conway (Saint Christine), Jimmy Kerrigan (Saint Christine), Olexa Bunofsky (Our Lady of the Holy Rosary), Frank Sobnosky (Saint Rose), Anise Alghamee (Saint Angela Merici), Nic Beike (Saint Joseph) and Kennedy Romeo (Saint Christine)
