Parent/Carer Information Session for all new parent’s/carer’s.

Information on the Nursery Curriculum, information on our various groups and much more!!

Health and Safety

No prams, bikes or scooters should be brought into nursery or left at the top of the stairs at the main entrance. (Health and Safety Regulations).

For safety reasons, while in nursery, please ensure that your child does not wear:

scarves, necklaces or big or hooped ear-rings.

It is VERYIMPORTANT that you inform us of any health issues/allergies so that we can put arrangements into place.

Absent from Nursery

If your child will be absent from nursery for any reason – please remember you must phone us on

0141 649 8949. Please report any chickenpox.

If you have changed address or phone

number, please let us know.

It’s important that we can get in touch with you.

Security

Please ensure that you sign your child in and out of nursery. (Please sign your name not ‘mum’ or ‘dad’).

We MUST know and have been previously introduced to anyone coming to collect your child.

This is to keep your child safe.

Please work with us – child safety and protection is always our first concern.

Playroom Gate

Please ensure you close the playroom gate securely behind you. For children’s safety, staff discourage children from opening or closing the gate.

Please support us by not encouraging your child to do this when with you.

Deanpark Uniform

Sweatshirts and Polo Shirts are available to purchase.

Reporting to Parents/Carers

We will meet with you twice within the school year.

We use Learning Journeys for each child to evidence and collate work. This is a shared folder with home/nursery. Please feel free to bring any photographs or work from home. Your child’s folder is available for you to look at whenever you wish.

There are family comment cards for you to write any comments you wish to share with nursery.

Home to School Challenge Sheet

We use Challenge Sheets to encourage home/school learning.

Every month there is a challenge for children.

Completed challenge sheets should be returned to your child’s keyworker and will be included in your child’s Learning Journey. These will then be included in the transition information passed onto your child’s primary school.

We are an ECO school and we have three Green Flags! We need help from parents/carers who are interested in gardening, recycling and caring for our environment. If you would like to join our group, please speak with Linda.

Sponsor Event

9 – 12 October 2017

All children will participate in ‘Walk a Mile with a Smile’

to raise funds for our Christmas parties.

Each child will have received a sponsor form.

Getting your child ready for school

Wednesday 25 October 2017 - 11.00am and 1.30pm

Is your child starting school in August 2018?

The Depute from Langside Primary School will deliver a talk ‘getting your child ready for school’ on 25 October 2017 at 11:00am and 1:30pm.

Parent/carers of pre school children are welcome to attend.

Diwali - Thursday 19October 2017

12 October 2017 – Diwali Snacks

Due to the October break, we will celebrate Diwali –The Festival of Lights on Thursday 12 October 2017.

We will offer Diwali snacks and experiences.

Stay and Play

Thursday 26 October 2017 11:00am and 1:30pm

Thank you to all parents/carers who came along to the ‘Stay and Play’ session.

Due to positive feedback, we are planning another session which will take place on Thursday 26 October 2017 – 11:00am and 1:30pm.

Please speak with Nicola or Kirsten if you are interested in participating with your child.

Walking Group(Friday mornings 09:15 am start)

Walk with your child – join Elaine on a Friday morning and walk a mile with a smile.

School Enrolment

Is your child due to start school in

August 2018?

Enrolment dates for local primaries will take place week commencing 6 November 2017.

Open Day and Enrolment information received from schools will be displayed on the Events Noticeboard.

This can sometimes be a confusing time!

Please speak to your child’s key worker for further information or any advice.

QR Codes

Information Session for Parents/Carers

Tues 10 October 2017 11:00am and 1:30pm

We are introducing QR codes

(quick response codes) around the nursery.

We look forward to receiving your feedback regarding this exciting development.

PARKING

Please do not stop or park your car on the yellowzig-zag lines outside the nursery. This area is used for Emergency Vehicle access and MUST be kept clear.

Suggestion Box

We have a Suggestion Box in the entrance area.

Your feedback matters.

Please use this to give us your ideas, comments or feedback.

Your views matter!

Soft Shoes

Please provide soft shoes for your child. Slip-on gym shoes are best for the playroom. These are inexpensive and are ideal for marking on your child’s name.

Change of Clothes

Please ensure your child has spare clothes in their bag. We provide a Peg Bag for all children. Please ensure that all clothing and gym shoes are named to save confusion.

Please do not mark the bag in any way as they are intended for long term use.
