Music Ministry Annual Retreat

The Archdiocese of Boston Black Catholic Choir (ABBCC) invites your music ministry to our annual retreat on Saturday, September 7th at the Archdiocese of Boston Pastoral Center, 66 Brooks Dr. Braintree. The theme of the retreat and the choir’s year is “Open Doors in Faith” (Rev. 3-20). Leading the retreat will be Fr. Romanus Onyekuru. The fee for the retreat is $35. per person. We will begin at 8.30 a.m. with a continental breakfast. Lunch is included and the retreat ends after our 4:00 p.m. Mass.

We also invite anyone interested in joining the choir to attend our opening prayer service and rehearsal on Monday, September 9th at 7:00 p.m. at St Katharine Drexel Parish Hall, 517 Blue Hill Ave. in Grove Hall. Day of Formation for New and Experienced Catechetical Leaders

Day of Formation for New and Experienced Catechetical Leaders, September 23, 2013, 9:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. , sponsored by the Offices of Faith Formation and Evangelization and the Episcopal Vicar for the New Evangelization, to be held at the Archdiocese of Boston Pastoral Center, 66 Brooks Drive, Braintree. Pastors, catechetical leaders and parish personnel involved in faith formation are encouraged to attend this day of formation, which will include presentations by the Most Reverend Robert P. Deeley, Vicar General and Moderator of the Curia, the Most Reverend Arthur L. Kennedy, Episcopal Vicar for the New Evangelization, and FFE and EVNE staff.Michael Lavigne, Senior Associate to the Episcopal Vicar for the New Evangelization, will give a keynote presentation on Evangelizing Catechesis. A special workshop for new catechetical leaders will be offered, as well as workshops on catechesis and faith formation in an evangelizing parish and preparing for pastoral planning. Fiat: For Discerning Women

Fiat is a discernment group for women in the Archdiocese of Boston who are considering a vocation to religious life. Our next meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. in the McPherson Room at Our Lady Help of Christians Church, 573 Washington St., Newton. Boston Black Catholic Revival and Youth Revival

On October 25, 26 and 27, the Office for Black Catholics will sponsor the Boston Black Catholic Revival and Youth Revival. St. Katharine Drexel Parish will host on October 25 at 7pm and October 27th at 5 pm. St. Angela Merici Parish in Mattapan will host the Youth Revival on October 26that 6 pm. at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross.

The Archdiocese is grateful for their generous response to God’s call to serve the Church as ministers of Charity, Sacrament, and Word. We are also deeply grateful to their wives and children for all of their support, sacrifice, and prayer in supporting the candidates’ vocations.

All are welcome to come and support this holy call to orders. Priests and Deacons are invited to vest in White Boston vestments.

Meeting Christ in Prayer

MEETING CHRIST IN PRAYER can bring people to a new level of discipleship and a renewed sense of Christian mission.

MEETING CHRIST IN PRAYER is an 8 week guided prayer experience based on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius. It calls for a commitment of eight weeks of daily prayer and eight weekly meetings of faith sharing.

Women’s Cursillo: An Opportunity to Deepen Your Faith

The Cursillo provides an experience of spiritual renewal and a method for Christian witness and evangelization. The Office of Worship and Spiritual Life oversees the Cursillo offered for English speaking Catholics in the Archdiocese of Boston. The English Cursillo Weekends for the Archdiocese are being held at the Campion Center, Weston, Massachusetts.
