  1. Please return the completed form to the main office or Mrs. Lewis on or before Friday, April 24.

It must be returned before senior interns leave.

Wednesday, April 29

Senior Internship begins. Additional fees may be assessed at this time for all Seniors who cannot verify possession of school property. Teachers will notify students of any additional fees. All seniors going on internship must have fees paid at this time.

Wednesday, May 13

ACADEMIC AWARDS PROGRAM @ 7:00 p.m.

All students are invited to attend the awards program in the Auditorium. Students receiving awards will receive invitations by mail.

Saturday, May 9

PROM - Will be held at the Bertram Inn & Conference Center, 600 N. Aurora Rd., Aurora, OH from 6:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m. (Dinner served 7:00-8:00) Prom tickets ($100.00 couple, $50.00 each) will be on sale in the Commons during the hours of 10:23-12:39, Monday, April 27th through Friday, May 1st. Guests who do not attend Aurora High School, must complete a form that will be available when tickets are sold or can be picked up in the main office beginning April 13th. There will be no tickets sold after May 1st. If you have any questions, contact Mrs. Dirda at 330-954-2157 or . If you are going on internship, purchase your tickets on either April 27th or April 28th.

Saturday, May 9 into Sunday, May 10

AFTER PROM - Will be held at Aurora High School on Saturday, May 9th from 11:30 p.m. to 2:30 am. Tickets are $10 and will be on sale: APRIL 27TH THRU MAY 1ST DURING ALL LUNCH PERIODS IN THE CAFETERIA!!!!! Please make arrangements to get your tickets during those times!! This is the most fun you will have in high school!! The event provides a great party after the dance. All Juniors and Seniors are welcome to attend, regardless of their attendance at Prom. There are amazing prizes, great food, inflatables, pictures, caricatures, casino games, airbrush tattoos and so much more. Everyone leaves with something! This is sure to be a great night that will hold great memories for all! No tickets are sold at the door!

Parents: We are still accepting donations!! If you have not already, you can send a donation to Toni Stepanek at 460 W. Homestead Drive, Aurora. Checks made payable to AHS After Prom. If you would like to help in any way, please contact Christine Smierciak at 216-407-8162.

ANNUAL SENIOR FAMILY BREAKFAST @ 7:30 a.m., AHS COMMONS

Seniors and their families are invited to attend. (Information and order form is included in this packet.)

DISTRIBUTION OF CAPS AND GOWNS TO ALL SENIORS

Seniors will receive their cap & gown at the Senior Breakfast. Cap & gown will be not be distributed at the Senior Breakfast for any Senior with an unsettled fee due to Aurora City Schools. All fees must be paid, books and uniforms returned BEFORE the Senior Breakfast. If you have any outstanding fees/fines (at the time of this mailing), information has been enclosed with this mailing.

Because there is no limit to the number of guests for each graduate NO TICKETS ARE REQUIRED to attend this year's graduation ceremony at the Kent State University MAC Center.

Wednesday, May 20

Senior Internship symposiums @ 7:00 PM

All students who completed Senior Internship must attend; if they do not successfully complete this requirement, they will not be able to participate in our graduation ceremony.

Thursday, May 21 & Friday, May 22

Final exams for seniors. All Seniors will follow their regular class schedule.

Thursday Exams: 2, 4/4a, 4a/5 & 8

Friday Exams: 1, 3, 5/5a, 5a/6 & 7

LEGAL HOLIDAY - NO SCHOOL - MEMORIAL DAY

BACCALAUREATE SERVICE – This is a non-denominational celebration to which all graduates and their families are invited. No tickets are required for this event. It takes place at 7:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 79 E. Mennonite Road, Aurora, OH. Plan to arrive no later than 6:45 p.m. The service will last no more than one hour. Proper attire is required. Caps & gowns are not worn.

SENIOR PICNIC – The annual Senior picnic will be held at Sunny Lake Park @ 11:30 am.

Saturday, May 30

COMMENCEMENT PRACTICE – Kent State University, The Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center (MAC Center), 9:00 a.m., 1025 Risman Drive, Kent, OH 44242. Buses will be provided. It is mandatory that all graduates report to the high school at 8:00 a.m. Buses will leave promptly at 8:15 a.m. Everyone must practice. Graduates not attending this rehearsal will not be permitted to participate in the graduation ceremony. The practice should last approximately two hours.

Tardiness of individuals affects the remainder of the class; disruption by individuals or groups of individuals will affect the time schedule of the entire class. Your cap & gown are not needed at the practice.

Saturday, May 30

COMMENCEMENT EXERCISES – Kent state university - MAC CENTER @ 4:00 p.m.

Graduates will report to the MAC Center by 3:15 p.m. and be in processing order no later than 3:30 p.m. The processional will leave promptly at 3:55 p.m.

Men should wear light colored shirts, dark trousers and dress shoes. Ties are mandatory and should blend with the forest green gown. Ladies should wear a light colored dress (remember your gown is white), and white shoes with a low to moderate heel. Small earrings are appropriate. Hair must be groomed to permit proper wearing of the academic cap.

The audience waits until the class has exited the auditorium before departing.

The commencement ceremony together with the Senior slide show will be recorded and made available for purchase. Order forms will be distributed with cap & gown.

Ripcho Studio will be photographing all graduates as they receive their diploma. (Order information will be distributed with cap & gown.)

Monday, June 1

Anyone not participating in the ceremony may pick up their diploma in the AHS guidance office.
