Study Title: Young people who don’t like cheese
You are being invited to take part in a research study. Before you to take part, it is important for you to understand why the researchis being done and what it will involve. Please take time to read the following information carefully. Please feel free to ask your family, friends or the researchers if there is anything that is not clear or if you would like more information.
What is the study about? We wish to find out the best way to support those young people who don’t like cheese. We would like to find out about your experiences at school or college, both good and bad. By taking part you will be helping others and your teachers form a better understanding of this condition.
Why have I been approached?This is a university-wide study and you have been approached because you don’t like cheese. In this study we will be talking to 100 young people such as yourself.
Who is involved in the study? The study is led by researchers from the University of Gromitville, Bristol. The study has the support of all the voluntary organisations supporting cheese. All the researchers are qualified, and belong to professional bodies overseeing research of this type.
Do I have to take part? You do not have to participate, and the study is entirely voluntary. Whether you take part or not will not affect your education in any way. If you decide to take part, you will be given this information sheet to keep and youwill be asked to sign a consent form.In taking part you are free to withdraw from the study at any time. You do not need to give a reason if you wish to withdraw.

What happens to the information? All the information is confidential. No one will be able to identify you from the study. Data will be entered into a computer and analysed and all paper copies containing personal information will be shredded. Interview recordings will be locked in offices within the university. All data will be coded to maintain confidentiality. All data will be treated in accordance with the current Data Protection Act.
What if I wish to complain?
Please raise any concerns with NAME / EMAIL.
What will happen to the results of the study? The results of this study will be available in an undergraduate dissertation. You will be able to receive a summary of this if you wish.
