Student Announcements: (read to students)

National Convention: Students going to National Convention need to have permission slips, medical releases and deposit of $65 to Mrs. Thomas by Monday.

Academic Team: The Academic Team will begin practice on Monday, October 20 at 3:30 in Room 110. If you are interested in joining and cannot attend the practice, please see Mrs. Stevens or Mr. Manion.

Driving Class: There will be a driving class October 20th from 4:30- 8:30 in room 114.

Fort Logan Preschool: The library is taking children books for Fort Logan Preschool. There is a box in the library for drop off. Any brought will be greatly appreciated.

Juniors: Juniors, your class officers have created a Twitter page! Follow @LCHSclassof16 to receive updates and give suggestions. We are eager for your input on class happenings, and look forward to making the rest of our high school careers as meaningful as possible.

Yearbooks: There are additional yearbooks for sale. The cost is $52 and can be purchased in room 206.

Club/Team Announcements:

FCCLA: FCCLA officers will meet after school,Monday October 20th, in Ms. Tillery's room (601) from 3:30-4:30.

Unite to Read: Unite to Read will be on October 28th at Highland Elementary. If your organization/club would like to participate please email Mrs. Sutton. Also any children books that you would like to donate please bring them by room 206 or 208.

FBLA: FBLA is in of volunteers for Big Toy Day on Saturday, October 18th. It will be held in Danville from 10-5. Please go by room 206 to sign up.

Book Club: The book club is collecting new and gently used books for Lincoln County Pre School. Please bring all donations to the drop box in the library.

KASBO Scholarship - Kentucky Assoc. for School Business Officials three $2,500 scholarships each year. In order to be eligible, the student must be a high school senior. See the scholarship board or the guidance link on LCHS homepage for more information on how to apply. Application due to KASBO by Dec. 15.

Kentucky State University and Toyota Academic Scholarship: Full Tuition, Room, Board, Books and Academic Related Fees Scholarship. Eligibility requirements: Incoming freshmen interested in Mechanical or related Engineering fields who have a 3.2 unweighted GPA and 26 ACT composite (minimum math score of 26 and English score of 18). Application deadline February 1st Application is available in the guidance office.

EKU’s Dual Credit Program: Any student who is NOT participating in EKU’s Dual Credit Program but would like to participate this spring must fill out an application before November 1. Please see Mrs. Cooper before November 1st for more information.

The Kentucky Ready Mixed Concrete Association Wm. T. Robertson High School Essay Contest is open to students between the ages of 16-18. Essays and entry forms must be postmarked by October 31, 2014. More information is available in the guidance office or visit the guidance tab on the LCHS website for entry forms and information.

Letter of Recommendation: If you need letters of recommendation for colleges or activities, pick up a Letter of Recommendation Personal Data Form in the guidance office. These must be filled out in detail and returned to counselors for us to write the recommendation

KSBA Scholarship - $500 local scholarship offered to one male student and one female student at LCHS. Students must be the first members of their immediate family to attend college and have a minimum score of 20 in reading on their ACT. Students must write a brief essay about “Why I should receive the KSBA scholarship”. Essays due to Mrs. Cooper by November 3.
