The athletes and coaches of the Glenda Dawson High School Girls and Boys Track Team would like to invite your team to the Dawson Eagle Invitational on Wednesday March 12th 2014.
General Information:
1. UIL rules will govern eligibility and participation. Scoring will be done using the Old National Federation scoring method of 6 places: 10-8-6-4-2-1 for individual events and 20-16-12-8-4-2 for relay events.
2. There will be a $75 entry fee. Make checks payable to Dawson Track Booster Club. Please return entry fees to Vincent Hypolite at 2050 Cullen Rd. Pearland, Texas 77581. The entry fee is $75 for girls and $75 for boys ($150 for both teams).
3. Starting blocks will be furnished.
4. Only ¼” spikes or smaller will be allowed on the track and runways.
5. The long jump and triple jump will have 3 preliminary jumps. The top 8 will advance to finals with for 3 additional jumps. Preliminary jumps will carry over to the finals.
6. The horizontal jumps will have minimum marks
Girls Long – 14’0 Girls Triple – 31’0
Boys Long – 19’0 Boys Triple – 40’0
7. Throwers will have 3 preliminary throws. The top 8 will advance to finals for 3 additional throws. Preliminary throws will carry over to the finals.
8. NO ADHESIVE TAPE WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE TRACK OR RUNWAY.
9. The girls high jump will start at 4’6”, boys high jump will start at 5’8”
10. The girls’ pole vault will start at 7’0”, boys pole vault will start at 10’0”.
11. Awards will be given to the Team Champion and Runner-Up Team. Individual medals will be given to the first 3 places.
12. The Dawson Track Team will provide a meal and cold a drink at our concession stand to all officials and coaches of attending schools.
13. All school busses are to be parked on the North Side of the school.
14. The Scratch Meeting will begin at 8:00 AM in the school cafeteria.
15. All entries will be done online at www.directathletics.com. When you log on to the site, type Glenda Dawson in the search box. Then click on Dawson Invitational. If you have an account, type in your log-in information and begin. If you do not have an account, then you will need to create one. Follow the directions at the “new users” prompt. Entries can be added and modified between December 17, 2013 and March 11, 2014. ALL ENTRIES CLOSE Tuesday 3/11 AT 5:00 PM
16. *Seating is limited we encourage teams and patrons to bring their chair*
17. *We WILL charge for parking, BUT NOT for individual entry.
