DAVID K. BLATTNER

David K. Blattner is a nationally experienced attorney specializing in complex real estate transactions. He has a diverse, national client base and provides a broad range of legal services for complex real estate, corporate and lending transactions.

Mr. Blattner maintains a diverse practice that includes institutional and corporate clients as well as closely held corporations, sole proprietorships and individual clients. This allows Mr. Blattner to provide personalized client service and high quality legal representation and analysis while offering a competitive, cost effective fee structure.

David K. Blattner is an A.V. rated real estate, banking and business attorney licensed in the State of Florida with over twenty-five (25) years’ experience. He has represented clients throughout the State of Florida, the United States, Canada, South America and Asia.

Prior to opening his own firm, David K. Blattner, P.A. in 2003, Mr. Blattner was a shareholder with Ruden, McClosky, Smith, Schuster & Russell, P.A. in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, one of Florida's largest and most prominent law firms, where he was a member of the firm's real estate department. He joined the firm upon graduation from law school in 1988 and was with the firm for fifteen (15) years. He practiced on his own with David K. Blattner, P.A. from 2003 to 2010 and then founded Udolf Libow & Blattner in Boca Raton, Florida. Thereafter, Mr. Blattner joined Fowler White Boggs P.A. in 2011 before joining Siegel, Lipman, Dunay, Shepard & Miskel, LLP in 2012. On January 1, 2013, Gary Dunay, Bonnie Miskel and Scott Backman and Mr. Blattner joined together to form Dunay, Miskel, Backman and Blattner, LLP.

Mr. Blattner received his J.D. with distinction in 1988 from John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois where he served as Executive Lead Articles Editor and Associate Managing Editor on the John Marshall Law Review. He received his B.A. in 1985 from George Washington University in Washington, DC where he was on the men’s varsity swimming and water polo teams.

Mr. Blattner has been elected to many community boards. He has served on the Board of Directors of the United Way of Broward County from 1996-2004 and served as Board Chair in 2002, Campaign Chair in 2000 and Allocations Chair from 1996-2000. He served on the Winterfest Boat Parade Board of Directors from1993-1998, serving as President/Chairman of the Board from 1995-1996 and General Counsel from 1993-1994. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Girl Scouts of Broward County and B'nai B'rith Youth Organization Adult Board (Broward and State Chair). Most recently, Mr. Blattner served as President of Beth Ahm Israel Synagogue in Cooper City, Florida from 2007-2008. He is a graduate of Leadership Ft. Lauderdale and Leadership Broward.

Mr. Blattner is a member of the Florida Bar and the Broward County Bar Association.

David K. Blattner, P.A. represents a broad range of clients including multi-national corporations, domestic corporations, banks and other financial institutions, condominium and homeowner's associations, property management companies as well as privately held entities and individuals in the acquisition, financing and development of major shopping centers, office buildings and executive parks, marinas, warehouse facilities, flex projects, hotels, single-family and multi-family residential developments and condominiums. As lender's counsel, Mr.Blattner negotiates and closes significant credit facilities for the acquisition and construction of all types of real estate projects, revolving and term loans, working capital lines of credit and other real estate and asset based loans. He also handles work outs and loan modifications for both lenders and borrowers and has been involved in asset management and REO with multiple lending institutions and on behalf of owners and developers. As developer's counsel, Mr. Blattner works with his clients to obtain debt and equity financing, including syndication of properties, 1031 exchanges and tax exempt financing.

Mr. Blattner drafts and negotiates contracts for real estate, construction, business and other transactions and represents landlords and tenants in commercial leases. He drafts and negotiates partnership, shareholder, operating and other entity agreements and handles entity formation and asset purchases and sales. These skills are all important to an owner/lender in managing a real estate portfolio.

As a niche area, Mr. Blattner has also represented funeral homes and cemeteries assisting them in the acquisition and disposition of properties as well as the licensing of funeral homes and cemeteries with the Florida Board of Funeral and Cemetery Services. He has represented licensees in disciplinary matters before the state agencies.

Mr. Blattner also provides title insurance and closing services for commercial and residential real estate transactions.
