INT. GREEN ROOM - EVENING

DR. ROGER GERMAIN paces back and forth going over his notes

getting ready for his public seminar. He seems a little

nervous.

His Assistant TRISHA enters with pages of notes to which she

refers.

TRISHA

We should have a full house. Sixty

percent are new referrals. I made

sure all the ones who had scored

highest on their tests are sitting

in the first two rows.

GERMAIN

Who are the ones we don’t have

histories on?

TRISHA

I have all their histories.

Although the woman with the red

jacket, front row, on the far

right, gave some pretty

inconsistent answers, so she might

be the one to avoid.

GERMAIN

Red Jacket, got it. Are we wired?

TRISHA

Yes, I made sure you had two ear

pieces on two separate channels, in

case one of them craps out again.

(beat)

Are you okay?

GERMAIN

Yes, I’m fine.

TRISHA

You seem a little distracted.

GERMAIN

I had a visit from an FBI agent

just a few minutes ago. He was

asking a lot of uncomfortable

questions, but nothing to worry

about.

TRISHA

Six foot two, grey hair, overcoat?

(CONTINUED)

GERMAIN

Yes. Is he still here?

TRISHA

He was standing in the lobby. Maybe

we should stick with the General

Orientation speech.

GERMAIN

No. Our members are expecting much

more.

(beat)

Call Security and let them know we

have eyes upon us. They’ll know

what to do.

TRISHA

Got it.

Germain turns to her with affection.

GERMAIN

Thank you Trisha. I don’t know how

I would manage without you.

TRISHA

(smiling)

It’s been my pleasure from the very

start. You taught me so much ...I

should be thanking you.

GERMAIN

I believe you have shown your

appreciation on more than enough

occasions.

(beat)

Now run along, I still have to

meditate.

Trisha nods and begins to head for the door.

GERMAIN

Oh, could you tell Sarah to come to

my office?

TRISHA

Sarah?

GERMAIN

Yes. Sarah Winston, the new girl.

TRISHA

She’s downstairs. I think she’s

busy helping with the beverages.

(CONTINUED)

GERMAIN

Yes, I know. I want her here,

please.

Trisha walks back to Germain and gets very close to him.

TRISHA

If there’s something else you want,

you know I can...

Germain holds her shoulder with a false affection.

GERMAIN

Yes, I know, but I need you to

focus on your current tasks.

Trisha is disappointed as she turns away and exits.
