CS1702.2  DECLARATION OF INTERESTS

CS1702.3  MINUTES

RESOLVED: / The minutes of the meeting of the Community Services committee meeting held on 3rd January 2017 and having been circulated, be approved and signed as a correct record.

CS1702.4  COMMITTEE BUDGET

(i) Members reviewed and noted the Committee Budget dated 31st January 2017 and no matters arising.

CS1702.5  COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

(i)  Members reviewed a report from the Events and Media Working Group and agreed to the following resolutions:

RESOLVED: / ·  To spend an additional £5000.00 on additional floral displays for the Town. (£1619.00 Floral Displays £3381.00 External Communications budget)
·  Approved the new children’s planting scheme costing £200.00 (Youth Services budget)
·  Purchase one Penguin bin for promotional use at DTC events £420.00 (Youth Services budget|)
·  Approval of a Community Cinema Night on Friday 31st March 2017 (£850.00 Youth Services budget).
·  Approved the purchase of a tablet up to a budget of £500. (External Communications budget)
·  Purchase 2 additional sleeves for the DTC lantern for the Arts Festival and Daventry Museum (300.00 External Communications budget).
·  To commission a promotional Video for DTC and Daventry but instead of podcasts from individual Councillors to have photos with a biography on the DTC website. (External Communications budget).
·  Receive a report at the next (March) Community Services meeting on the costings to install vertical interchangeable banners around the town and investigate sources on online advertising.
·  To Earmark the budget of £575.00 from Youth Services Budget and create an application form for interested community leaders to be able to apply for Litter Barrow’s to assist with community clean ups. (Youth Services budget)

(ii)  Members discussed a report adding two annual events on to the annual events calendar. introduction of annual Mayoral Awards and Cllr M Wesley suggested that these awards should not come from a public nomination, but be the current Mayors choice via the community engagements they carry out during their term and it was resolved to:

RESOLVED / To add National Play Day with a budget of £500.00 (Events) and Mayoral Awards to the annual events schedule.

(iii)  The Communications Officer verbally reported on the progress of Pancake Day and Daventry Arts Festival

CS1702.6  Allotments

Members agreed with a report detailing the maintenance plan for the allotments along with an update on the number of vacant plots and details from The Daventry Allotment and Gardening Associations last meeting.
