Rules

Act Rules

  • K-5th grades:up to 1 minute.
  • 6th grade: up to 1.5 minutes.
  • Groups of 6 or more: up to 2 minutes.
  • One act per performer(exceptionif you’re performing in the following: class act; chorus; cheer).
  • Song must befrom a musical film. Go to this website to see a complete list of musical films:
  • If you need help choosing a song and/or cutting a song, please don’t hesitate to ask Pnina Evans for help.
  • Principal has final determination to remove any concerning material. Please pick only age appropriate songs and age appropriate dance moves.
  • Songs will be available on a first come, first served basis if two or more acts want the same song.
  • Make sure to pick more than one song in case your first choice is taken.
  • Only students in the school are allowed in the act. Siblings not enrolled and/or parents are not allowed.If your Audition & Permission Form is late or incomplete, you may still be in the show, but you’ll have to join an act that has already been pre-approved. You will not get to choose and perform in your own act. Only one Audition & Permission Form needed for siblings who are in the same act.

Audition Rules

  • Audition notices will be sent out at a later date and will inform you of the date and time of your audition.
  • Auditions are mandatory. If you do not audition, you can’t be in the show. However, if you need to change the day from Tue., February 20th to Wed., February 21st or vice versa, that is no problem. Please contact Pnina Evans to switch days.
  • Music must be cut and ready on a CD for auditions. If you’re singing, you must use an instrumental version of the song (music without the singer) and no acapella allowed. Music file (mp3, mp4, m4a, etc.) can be emailed to Pnina Evans prior to auditions. If music is emailed and approved, there’s no need to bring a CD to auditions.
  • ALL props and set pieces you plan on using for the show must be brought to auditions.
  • All performers in the group must be present at auditions.
  • Act must be ready to perform at auditions and costume must be presented then as well.
  • When you arrive, please sign in and head outside with your whole group to prepare for your audition.
  • Parents and students will NOT be allowed in the MPR during auditions. Only the act auditioning will be allowed in the MPR. Yard duty will be in place outside to watch the kids who are waiting to audition. An adult will be at the door letting each act in according to a prearranged order.

Rehearsal Rules

  • Parents and students WILL be allowed in the MPR for the first mandatory rehearsal (Monday, March 19th) to watch the other acts. However, if there’s disruption in the MPR and the rehearsal process ishindered, all watchers will be sent to wait outside for the remainder of the rehearsal.
  • Parents and studentsWILL NOT be allowed in the MPR during the final two mandatory rehearsals (Tuesday, March 20thWednesday, March 21st). Yard duty will be in place outside to watch the kids who are waiting to go on stage. Groups will be called to wait to enter the stage according to a prearranged order.
  • Parents and kids can leave rehearsal after their kid’s act is done.
  • ALL props that you plan on using for your act must be brought to all rehearsals.

Performance Rules

  • We kindly ask that parents do not attend the morning & afternoon performances on March 30th. That performance is for the student body only since there is not enough space to accommodate additional seating for parents and family. We thank you for your cooperation.
  • On the nights of March 22nd & March23rd, all performers should arrive by 6:00pm. They will stay in a TBD room by the MPR and will besupervised throughout the show. Performers will need to remain in the room during the entire show and will not be allowed to go into the MPR to watch any of the performances. Parents will not be allowed to come into the supervised rooms unless they are picking up their children for the night.
  • Doors to the MPR open at 6:00pm. Entry to reserve seats earlier than 6:00pm will not be allowed.
