A Powerful Consumer Niche: The Arab-North American Market
Arab-Americans are considered “Primary Consumers of Ethnic Media.” Meaning, Arab-Americans prefer Arabic television, Arabic newspapers, websites, etc., to traditional, non-ethnic, media according to the latest and most sweeping study by New America Media. Dandana’s focus on Arab-Americans makes it the first satellite broadcaster, or any broadcaster, television or otherwise to do so on a national level in the United States and Canada. Dandana America recognizes the powerful economic characteristics of this large community and their spending power.
The Arab-Americans
According to the latest market studies from New America Media, the premier news and research service on ethnic markets in the United States, three-quarters of all Arab-Americans are reached by Arab media. While Internet penetration and use is higher for Arab-Americans than any other ethnic community in the United States, television is their preferred medium. This study affirms other studies of Middle Eastern consumer media preferences which overwhelmingly majority of respondents indicated that television is still their preferred medium.
