  2. Nothing new to report, see AAO Council for 3rd Annual Spring BBQ updates.
  1. GSA Executive Council

a. No new business.

  1. Committees (Internal, Standing)
  2. Sign-ups will no longer be sent around at the meetings.

  2. Announced call for AAO applications
  1. Review of applications, interviews and selection will take place in the next few weeks.
  2. Planning 3rd Annual Spring Event/BBQ with Shawn Ragan, the new incoming VPAA for next year (2016-2017) and the social chair, Drew Story.
  1. Conducted activities relevant to planning and organizing the event.
  2. Events and Allocations Committee approved the Spring BBQ budget of a maximum $1,400.
  3. The event will be June 2nd, from 4pm to 6pm at the SRC Pool Deck.
  4. Student Life will also co-sponsor the event.
  1. Graduate Student Conference Co-sponsorship
  1. Held one (1) pre-conference meeting with prospective graduate student conference organizers.
  2. The Events and Allocations Committee approved the Medicine Ways application from the History Department mini-GSA for $1,500.
  3. The Events and Allocations Committee also approved retroactive funding of conferences approved earlier in the year to due excess funds.
  4. Department co-sponsorship suggested retroactive funding:

Disjunctions - $750 (we funded them $1,250, $750 would bring the award up to $2000, they originally requested $2,500)

JYC - $500

Art History - $0 (already approved at 50%)

SCEP - $0 (already received double funding this year)

Brain Awareness Day - $500

Ethnic Studies - $350

MEGSA - $0 (already approved at 50%)

History - $0 (will basically be double funded this year, with two conferences)

5. GendeRespect Series and Sexual Violence Education

a. New meeting never announced.

6. Student Life

b. Held Meeting with Adam Daniels (SL Staff)

  1. Student Life will present at the AAO Spring Event with computers to re-register mini-GSAs for next year.
  2. Next meeting TBD

7. Diversity Committee

a. International Affairs Officeris proxy.

8. Coordinated Community Review Team for UC Riverside

a. Next meeting never announced.

9. Academic Senate Committee on Distinguished Teaching

a. Attended Meeting, Distinguished Teaching recipient(s) chosen

10. Ad Hoc Committee on LGBTQ Inclusivity

a. Held second meeting

i. Not very productive overall, as only one member attended.

ii. Planning new meeting.

11. Diversity and Inclusion Liaison

  1. Participated as Member of the Hiring Committee with the Graduate Division
  2. New DIAL officer chosen and appointed, starts July 1st
  3. Currently drafting bylaws for the new DIAL position.
  4. Meeting with heads of campus offices in preparation for summer.

13. UC Women's Caucus Leadership Conference
