SUMMARY: Dallas Public Voices is a high-impact leadership program to accelerate the ideas and public impact of underrepresented thought leaders, including women, in the Dallas area, in the arenas of racial justice, gender justice and social justice. Funded by The Boone Family Foundation, Dallas Public Voices is part of a broader multi-year initiative launched by The OpEd Project in collaboration with leading universities and foundations nationwide. The 2017 Dallas program will provide twenty thought leaders with extraordinary resources, skills and support over the course of three months, to ensure their ideas shape not only the work in their field, but also the greater public conversations of our age.
PROGRAM DETAILS:
- 20 Dallas-based leaders from diverse backgrounds
- Three-month leadership program, with extended follow-up support
- Three in-person convenings (1.5 day or 1-day) designed to accelerate ideas and impact
- Dedicated coaching and editing from top journalist mentors
- Monthly conference calls with senior media insiders (NYT, CNN, TED, Wikipedia)
- Ongoing access to our team of high-level mentor-editors, post-greenhouse

REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must identify as female, must be Dallas based and should be executive level or high-potential leaders in the social justice and nonprofit sector. Leaders in the corporate, civil or academic sectors may apply, but must demonstrate in their work and application a strong commitment to social justice. Applicants must be Dallas-based and their work must serve the greater Dallas community. Applicants/organizations that have not been represented in prior years of the program will be given preference. Applicants must commit to attending all three in person convenings and writing at least two op-eds.
