Position Opening: Environmental Education Naturalist
1500 hours per year, flexible schedule (usually 8 hours per day, not to exceed 40
Hours per week)
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
Environmental Education
· Assists in development and implementation of lessons and activities as directed by Environmental Education Teacher.
Site and Equipment Maintenance
· Maintain all trails and outdoor learning areas at the school forest.
· Assist in the care and maintenance of the wildlife exhibit and specimens.
· Maintain and repair all student equipment.
· Assist with all processes of the maple syrup program.
· Use chain saw, log splitter, ice auger, tractor, trailer, and lawn mower as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Prefer candidate with Bachelor’s Degree in related area.
· Exhibit respect for the natural world and enjoyment of outdoors.
· Ability to communicate effectively with children and adults.
· Demonstrate knowledge and skills in teaching topics associated with environmental education.
· Exhibit knowledge in ecology and natural resource concepts.
· Maintain Red Cross First Aid and CPR certification.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
· Flexible hours through school year.
· Wage to be determined, no benefits are available with this position.
