December 2014 - Present PA/Administrative Assistant, Imperial College London

Providing administrative and secretarial support for the academic activities of selected academic groups as directed by the relevant Head of Group/s and the Divisional Manager with the Division of Cancer. Also supporting undergraduate and postgraduate educational activities within the Division, in conjunction with the appropriate Departmental/Divisional Admin teams.

January 2005 - present Secretary/Accounts Clerk, BTM Life Light Project

Assisting the Director with the management of a community project. Duties include servicing the committee by providing papers and itineraries in advance of the meeting, taking minutes, counter-signing cheques, book-keeping and doing the accounts, dealing with any tax queries and submitting the self-assessment form to the HMRC.

July 2013 – November 2014 CCIC Administrator, Imperial College London

Assisted the Director with the running of the Comprehensive Cancer Imaging Centre’s core administrative functions, with links to Imperial College London and the Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. Responsibilities included general office Administration, Finance and Human Resources. Was the main point of contact for all enquiries relating to the Imaging Centre, co-ordinating regular reporting on research, recruitment and financial activity to the Director.

April 1998 – May 2013 Departmental Secretary, UCL Medical School

Assisted the Centre Administrator in the provision of comprehensive administrative support to the Centre staff. Included dealing with incoming enquiries to the Centre, managing the diaries of academic staff, typing correspondence, dealing with patient enquiries, typing academic documents, organising travel arrangements to academic meetings, organising speakers for departmental seminars, organising academic meetings, liaising with other centres and departments, ordering supplies and equipment, arranging teaching programmes and examinations, preparing and co-ordinating activities for visiting post-graduate doctors.

Other Work Experience

From September 1988 – April 1998

Trained as Medical Secretary on hospital scheme. Went on to work in St Mary’s Hospital, the Royal London Hospital and the Royal Free Hospital as permanent Medical Secretary, and was a temporary Medical Secretary with Smile Employment Agency intermittently. Duties included typing clinic letters, dealing with patient queries, liaising with a wide range of people at all levels within and outside the organisation.

From July 1981 to September 1988

Worked as a Clinic Clerk, Appointments Clerk/Receptionist and Clinic Receptionist at St Mary’s Hospital. Duties included retrieving patients’ notes, receiving visitors and answering queries, making patient appointments, managing petty cash and reimbursing patients entitled to have their fares refunded for attending hospital.

Achievements/Experience

·  Participated as a guest on Premier Christian Radio on several occasions. The radio station has an international audience.
