Key Achievements:

Responsible for leading, coordinating and supervisingthe Northern Michigan Lean Learning Consortium,which was launched in 2008 to educate individuals and organizations in lean management practices. The training involvedthe implementation ofa lean culture,Toyota Production System (TPS),internal audits, ISO 9000 Quality,lean 5S,lean manufacturing,lean operations,lean six sigma,lean strategy,process flow,process improvement,process mapping,six sigma,Theory of Constraints, value stream mapping and root cause analysis.

Key Achievements:

In 2009, consortium members with certified Lean Champions reported over $1.75 million in financial impacts.

A food processing company reported reduced inventory, increased output by 69.8% in fewer production days, reduced defects to almost zero, running products in smaller batch sizes, enhanced company communications and improved management alignment.

A Manufacturing company reported that lead time was reduced from 2-4 weeks to ship to 5 business days from receipt of order, backorders on mold and die polishing stone orders went from the 40-50% range on a monthly basis to the 5-10%, product line sales grew 44%, manufacturing output in core operations increased 70% since the year 2000.

AAR MOBILITY SYSTEMS – Cadillac, MI 1/05 TO 10/08

Manager – Continuous Improvement and Training

Hired to create and lead the lean continuous improvement and training initiative for a multi-state, 700+ employee (union and non-union) aerospace and defense manufacturing company.

Key Achievements:

Selected to lead the executive and mid-level management development training program for the parent organization utilizing the “Bell Leadership” curriculum.

Served as the Executive Steering Committee Process Improvement Chair Person.

With the lean training initativewe reduced labor cost 5%(nearly $1 million dollars in overtime and rework cost), increased on time delivery by 9% (from 86% to 95%)and effectively decreased inventory levels by 20%.

In employee satisfaction and skill development weestablished significant improvements in 33 of the 34 categories in the annual employee climate surveys for 3 consecutive years. The impact resultedin improved retention rates, decreased absenteeism and improved organizational effectiveness.

Successfully acquired training grants totaling more than $300,000.00

ALLIANCE HUMAN SERVICES, LLC– Cadillac, MI 4/96 to 12/04

Responsible for the creation and growth of a for-profit residential treatment center, community based counseling and senior mentoring program for adjudicated youth.

Key Achievements:

Generated over $1,000,000.00 in contracts with the State of Michigan.
