Reminded participants that a LAN message was distributed on January 4th outlining the snow removal plans for the Udall and South Interior Buildings; this included times the entrances and parking ramps are operational. This information is available on the home page of the OFAS website.

Modernization Updates:

  • 7100 East/West with the new skylights has been completed and the furniture for OCIO is currently being installed. OCIO is scheduled to move into 7100 the weekend of January 27th and they will be utilizing the open-office concept. This wing will house over 100 employees and contractors from OCIO.
  • The Secretary’s Conference Room (5160) will be completed by April.
  • The office space on the 1st and 2nd floors of the Interior Library will be available in early March. The bottom two floors (will house all materials) as well as the Secretary’s garage will be completed in May.
  • For the Yates Auditorium, construction is virtually complete and the area is now being outfitted with the new AV systems. All work should be completed in May.
  • The 1500 wing (space previously occupied by modernization contractors) will be completed in March and is being set-up as an open-office concept to improve space utilization.

Office Moves in Udall

  • To support the effort to maximize space in Udall and the influx of roughly 550 staff from NPS, there are 25 different moves scheduledduring the next few months. Staff from NPS will relocate in multiple phases (4 – 6 different move weekends) from March and going through May or June.

Wellness Center Upcoming Event - “Talks with the Health Coach Series”

  • The initial session is today (January 18) with Sessions 2 through 5 taking place each month following. Today’s session is called: A Fresh Perspective on Getting Healthy in the New Year. The next session is on February 8 and is called: Ditch the Diet and Try Some Real Food.
  • All sessions are in the Kiowa Room from 12:00 -1:00 pm. Each of the five sessions will look at the daily factors that we need to maintain our well-being.

Shout Out!

  • Broken parts on the E Street door. Repairs to the E Street Doors: Unfortunately the parts were misplaced but the doors should be repaired soon.
