Nebraska Model Horse Expo 2010 Show Packet
Welcome to the 2010 Edition of the Nebraska Model Horse Expo. This year we have some exciting developments that will be fun for all!
First, the Expo Hall (Bunny Barn) will not be secured on Friday night due to a rodeo taking place next door and concessions being sold in the Expo Hall. This means that setup Friday night is more of a stake out your table and socialize event rather than bringing all your horses in for setup.
Second, with this event happening, we actually would have more time to enjoy the Expo on Friday night! The vendors and entertainment are great!
Third, and this is a BIG one, your open division entry now includes ONE 3-day gate pass! How cool is that? There is a strict entry deadline so that we can get your passes mailed to you, but you no longer have to pay the show entry fee AND buy a gate pass, its all included.
This does bring some fundamental changes to setup and leaving of goods overnight though. Friday night will still be setup time, but since we are in a more public area, you might want to just come and stake out your table and not get all your horses set out like we have been able to do in years past. We will use it for time to socialize and meet new faces, then we can enjoy the Friday night performance!
RULES:
1. Show holder, Lancaster Event Center and Nebraska Horse Council will not be held liable for lost or stolen property.
2. Poor sportsmanship will not be tolerated. Anyone engaging in unsportsmanlike behavior will be removed from the show hall and no refunds given.
3. A maximum of 4 horses per halter class and 3 horses per performance class will be enforced.
4. Foal halter classes are for models representing horses 1 year old and younger.
5. All open division classes are NAN Qualifying. First and Second place horses in these classes will receive NAN cards.
6. Judges decisions are final. Asking questions is permitted, arguing is not.
7. 3x5 cards will be used to identify each model. On one side please put your horse’s name, breed and gender. On the reverse put your name. The quickest way to do this is to print this information on labels and stick them to the cards. Bring extras as your horses will need new cards for callbacks.
8. No pets are permitted in the show hall or within the grounds during Nebraska Horse Expo. This does not include service animals.
9. We will have a number of rings running at once. Please stay alert to get your horses to the tables in a timely manner. A 10 minute setup time for each performance class will be enforced. Gate hold will be grated, but must be asked for before time expires.
Novice Division Specific Rules:
1. Novice entry entitles entrant to bring 15 horses total.
2. All customs shown in the Novice division must have been customized by the owner.
3. All tack and props used in performance must have been made by the owner or be mass-produced items such as those offered by Breyer.
4. Novice status will be determined by entrant, but a good rule of thumb is that if you have been winning Championships at the novice level, you might want to consider moving into open competition.
5. The Novice division is open to all ages of competitors.
6. Novice division classes are non NAN Qualifying.
So, what is the NAN thing you keep talking about?
The North American Nationals (NAN) is NAMHSA's annual National Championship Model Horse Show. The NAN is directed by the NAN Show Committee under the authority of the NAMHSA Board.
The NAN show will be held Lexington, Kentucky in even-numbered years and in a variable alternate location, in odd-numbered years.
A model horse earns qualification to compete at the NAN by winning a first or second place in a NAMHSA approved open class at a NAMHSA member show. This qualification enables a horse to enter one of the next two NAN shows. For each qualification earned, a horse receives a ticket which is their proof of the qualification and must be submitted when entering a NAN show.
