WAIAPU ANGLICAN CURSILLO STRATEGIC PLAN
2017
Cursillo is a movement which:
· supports the mission of the Anglican church in Aotearoa-New Zealand;
· came to Waiapu in 2011; and
· is overseen by the Bishop
Cursillo operates through:
· lay leadership, assisted by clergy.
· Three-Day Cursillo courses (single-gender or mixed-gender) - one or two per year in different regions of the Diocese.
· course participants supported by a Cursillo veteran and their priest-in-charge, maximum 14 (HB) and 20 (BP).
· forward gifting of course fees to pay for future participants.
· one-day events to refresh lay ministry commitment.
· a web of Group Reunions to stimulate active discipleship.
· its own resources, human and financial, to carry through its commitments.
In 2017 Cursillo in Waiapu will:
· liaise with the Diocesan Bishop/Bishop’s representative.
· strengthen lay leadership, and transition new members to Secretariat positions.
· promote Cursillo throughout the Diocese as an opportunity for spiritual development.
· attract clergy to the Cursillo experience for their ongoing support and commitment to developing lay leadership within the Church.
· consolidate links with Tikanga Māori to strengthen bi-cultural understandings and practices.
· offer a Combined (mixed gender) Three-Day Cursillo in Hawkes Bay (7 – 10 September at Riverbend Centre, Te Aute Rd. Hastings).
· attract up to 14 attendees (laity and clergy) to the Three-Day Cursillo.
· run a Day of Deeper Understanding (DDU) in Hawkes Bay on 28 October.
· organise two regional gatherings called Ultreyas: BOP on 25 March, and HB on 12 August.
· grow and support the web of Group Reunions.
· review policies, heed advice, and monitor resourcing needs for 2017-2018 planning.
Cursillo helps us as Waiapu Anglicans to:
· renew our commitment to Christ through being challenged in our journey of faith.
· proclaim the Good News by sharing the Gospel and telling our faith stories.
· receive training and resourcing for our Lay Ministry beyond the church.
· discover our gifts of ministry and find ways to serve our communities through prayer, action and loving service.
· invigorate worshipping communities to be open, welcoming and bi-cultural.
Through Cursillo we make Jesus known.
