I moved to the UK in 1997 and was able to adjust quickly to the language and culture. My fluency in English was often complimented on whether through communication or as feedback on essays and dissertations. I am an excellent communicator on all levels and pride myself of being a tolerant and out-going personality. Further, I commit myself to projects 100% and meet deadlines without difficulties.

I am currently teaching any subject across Sussex at various schools and have started to work as freelance translator.
February 2008 – February 2009
Teacher of German and French, Imberhorne School, East Grinstead
My role as language teacher included preparing lessons on a short and long term basis as well as carrying out formative and informative assessments. I taught from KS2 as part of the Primary Languages Initiative, KS3 (including NVQ 1) and KS5 (NVQ 3). I organised a theatre visit for KS3 pupils and helped to develop a new Scheme of Work for both French and German in the school using a more creative approach to learning languages. I frequently communicated with parents/carers.
September 2007 – December 2007
PGCE 2nd placement at Holy Trinity School, Crawley
During my second placement I was teaching KS3 and 4 as well as running seminars for A-level German students. I was also working as an LSA once a week as part of the school’s induction programme. I planned long-term and short term lessons and carried out formative and informative assessments. I also attended an AS Sociology group as a teaching assistant.
September 2006 – May 2007
PGCE 1st placement at Chatsmore Catholic School, Goring
As part of my first placement, I taught KS3 and 4 classes. Further, I took the opportunity to plan and teach a lesson for German exchange students within a year 8 German class.

Housewife
After having my second child in August 05 I decided to take a year out of work and confirmed my desire to become a teacher. I applied to the University of Brighton for a PGCE course in Modern Foreign Languages.

Supply Teaching Assistant (bank)
As a teaching assistant I was responsible for the welfare of children with special needs. This required thorough and specific training including feeding and handling the children in and out of their wheelchairs along with everyday tasks, which was provided by Chailey Heritage School.

Carer for my mother
During this period I cared for my mother, who was terminally ill. I managed her finances in Germany as well as in the UK and liaised with numerous agencies such as occupational therapists, nurses and hospice staff.

As an escort I was taking care of handicapped children, which were taken to and from school. I was involved in safety checks but also in ensuring the children felt comfortable and relaxed during the ride.

I started work in the UK as an Au Pair in a family with two children aged 3 and 6 months. My duties included looking after the children and help run the household. I enjoyed managing my time efficiently and was accepted by the whole family.

Additional information
I speak fluent German as well as Luxembourgish, and French on an intermediate level. Further, I can use Word, PowerPoint, Excel as well as Wordfast without any problems and am very confident using Interactive Whiteboard Software. Also, I use the internet and process e-mails on a daily basis. I possess a full driving license.
Interests
I enjoy reading, socialising, cycling and am interested in herbalism and collect a wide variety of plants to make my own tinctures. In my spare time I help running a children’s club and volunteer in a local primary school once a week, when I have the time.
