Dear Parent(s) / Carer(s)

Trip No: 4584 - Optional Residential UK Trip Out of School Time 11th to 15th February 2017

Current Years 9, 10 and 12 Creative Arts Trip to New York

We are currently organising a trip to New York City. The trip is open to all students currently in Years 9, 10 and 12 who will be studying Performing Arts, Music, Dance, Art and Design or Photography next year. It will take place during February Half Term in 2017, flying out on Sunday, 12th, leaving New York on Wednesday, 15th February, and arriving in the UK on the morning of Thursday, 16th February 2017. The cost of the trip will be £973.20.

We organised a trip to New York in February this year, and the visit was a huge success. Much of our itinerary has been organised to incorporate the interests of students studying Creative Arts subjects, but they also include visits and activities we consider essential to any New York Experience.

We will be staying in the Roosevelt Hotel, a 4* hotel which is located at Madison Avenue and 45th Street in the heart of midtown Manhattan, within easy reach of the Empire State Building, 5th Avenue shopping, Times Square, Rockefeller Center and the Broadway Theatre District. This is an exceptionally good price for this particular hotel, as you will see if you visit their website at http://www.theroosevelthotel.com/.

Accommodation costs are based on three students sharing a single sex room with two doubles and one rollaway bed. A small supplement may apply if numbers do not work out. All rooms have private facilities, TV, telephone and air conditioning.

Our package, which is for five days and three nights, one being an overnight journey, includes:

·  Coach transfer from the school to Heathrow Airport

·  Return flights between London and New York

·  One item of checked baggage per person and one item of hand luggage per person

·  Three nights’ accommodation in the Roosevelt Hotel

·  Return airport transfers in New York

·  90 minute Broadway Show Workshop for Performing Arts Students, including Music and Dance

·  Entrance to the Metropolitan Museum of Art for Art and Design and Photography students

·  Broadway Theatre Tickets - Show to be confirmed

·  Three Full American Breakfasts at Mustang Harry’s

·  Meal and soft drink at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co Restaurant

·  Meal and soft drink at Hard Rock Café

·  Meal and soft drink at Heartland Brewery

·  All lunches and an evening meal en route

We will also visit Ground Zero, and students will have the opportunity to visit Macey’s or Bloomingdales Department Stores, Central Park and Times Square.

Important please note that parents/carers are required to collect students from the airport on our return.

Please be aware that all students will be required to have a valid British Passport and will be required to obtain travel authorisation using the Electronic System for Travel Authorisation (ESTA). This must be completed online by each individual passenger and the cost is $14 per person. You must obtain this authorisation in addition to the submission of passport information, which is still required. Each individual traveller must register on-line on the following website https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta.

No students will be able to travel without proof of authorisation. It is essential that parents/carers of students who do not hold British Passports check the visa status with the embassy prior to sending in a deposit.
