The second Inprint bienalle will run from September 16th to October 29th 2017 following on from the highly successful pilot show in 2015. The show will be exhibited across three galleries during Hulls City of Culture year taking advantage of large visitor numbers to galleries in the city and surrounds

The show will be selected from open entry with one “national” workshop being invited each year to show off the work of its artists. This year the selected organization is the esteemed Edinburgh Printmakers.

Galleries participating in the show are The Ropewalk Gallery (Barton on Humber), Eleven Gallery and KAG Gallery in Hull.

Open Entry Submission:

Artists can submit a maximum of two prints/pieces and a non-returnable handling charge of 5 pounds per work payable by cheque to Robert Moore or by cash on the delivery of works to The Ropewalk.

Complete the entry form carefully in black pen using block capitals. Labels must be securely tied to the back of each work to hand on string over the front of each piece.

The gallery copy of the entry form must be handed in on delivery of the work to Ropewalk together with a stamped addressed envelope.

Each entry must be clearly labeled on the back with the name of the artist and title of the work. The top of the work must be identified on the back of the work.

Media

All original printmaking methods are acceptable with works originated and conceived as a print and produced in limited quantity. No reproduction prints (such as Giclee) will be accepted. Printed art based ceramics will be considered and both Ropewalk and Eleven have limited facilities for showing such work.

Edition

Please state the total edition number and unframed prints available on the entry labels.

Framing

Each entry must be framed and mirror plated on the vertical edges in a central position. Clip frames or diffused glass is not acceptable. Framed prints must not normally exceed 1 metre in any direction.

Printed ceramic pieces must be stable for display purposes preferably for display case exhibition or plinth based at the artists risk.

Submission Dates

Friday 1st September, Saturday 2nd September and Sunday 3rd September.

10:00 am to 5:00 pm.

All work must be unpacked on delivery and packing taken away.

Selection

Selection will take place on Tuesday 5th September by a panel of three professional artists with one from each of the exhibition venues.

The selectors decision is final and no correspondence can be entered into regarding selection. Selectors will determine what work is shown at which venue as part of the process ensuring diverse and well presented shows at each venue.

After Selection

All artists will be notified by post of the selectors decisions. All non selected

Work will be available for collection from 17th September. After the exhibition all unsold work must be collected from Ropewalk between November 1st and November 6th 2017 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Sales

All work must be for sale and priced to include 45% commission .

Copyright

All works must be original and the artists work.

Insurance

Works are submitted at the owners risk. It is the artists responsibility to ensure that all work is insured against damage or loss howsoever caused during transportation, storage, selection and exhibition.

Prizes. There will be a Hawthorne’s materials prize of 100–00 and a selectors cash prize of 125-00 for excellence, with other prizes to be announced.
