1c / Increase classroom participation / DSS, DAG, Matriculation & Student Equity Plans / Students were encouraged to think about diversity and inclusion in relationship to how they experience the world. Facilitated workshops for Journalism and Sociology classes on Diversity. Collaborated with Forensic Director on a series of debates on current events, i.e., Hot Topic Series: Proposition 54, Racial Privacy Initiative, Illegal Immigrants/California Drivers License, Same-Sex Marriages. Co-sponsored with Jeff Knorr, Poet and Lisa Chavez of University of New Mexico.

2a / Collaborate on programs that speak to specific needs of students that participate in CAC programs. / DSS, DAG, Matriculation & Student Equity Plans / Network 2003—Support services for students of color and Queer Alliance; Stress Relief through Poetry; Urban Indian Health Project; Domestic Violence, Personal Safety; Breast Cancer Network
2b / Continue to work with LRC to collaborate on linking programs with LRC resources, videos, books, poetry and photo display, etc. / DSS, DAG, Matriculation & Student Equity Plans / LRC Book Displays to coincide with traditional cultural events. Encouraged students from poetry workshops to submit their work to the LRC.

Other Accomplishments:
1.  David Fabionar worked in partnership with the Cultural Awareness Center to have four student debates on Hot Topics that were newsworthy on a state or national level. This format promoted critical thinking and an opportunity for students to share their opinions. Workshop Design: Debate Club presentation of both sides of the issue and open discussion followed.
