1.2QUALITYASSURANCE
A.Providecubiclecurtains,track,andhardwarefroma firmthathasspecializedin thefabricationandinstallationof suchworkfor atleastfive(5)yearsinprojectsof similarsizeand scope.
B.Providecubiclecurtains,track,andhardwareascompleteunitsproducedbyasinglemanufacturer,includingthenecessary mountingbrackets,hardware,fittings,fastenings,andinstallation.
C.Installation shallbeperformedbyan authorizedmanufacturer’srepresentativeexperiencedinthe installationandmaintenance of suchassemblies.
1.3STANDARDS
A.Exceptasmodifiedbygoverning codes andcontractdocuments,complywithapplicableprovisionsandrecommendationsofthefollowing:
B.Fabrics areabletowithstand a temperature of not more than160 degreesF.
C.Provide curtainsthatconformtoNFPA701 Fire TestsforFlameandResistantTextilesandFilms,andCaliforniaTitle 19regulations.
1.Identifyfabricswithappropriate markingsof applicabletestingandinspectingagency.
1.4SUBMITTALS
A.Manufacturer’s Data: Includedurability,laundrytemperaturelimit,faderesistance,andfire-testresponse characteristicsforeachtype of curtainfabricindicated.
B.Shop drawings:Submitdrawingsshowinglayoutandcubicleconfigurations,sizesofcurtains,number ofcarriers,anchoragedetails,andconditionsrequiringaccessories.Indicatedimensionstakenfrom fieldmeasurements.Includedetailson blockingaboveceilingandinwalls.
C.VerificationSamples: SubmitFull-sizeunitsof eachtypeofthefollowingproducts:
1.CubicleCurtains: Submit12 inchsquareswatch(memo)samplesillustratingfabriccolor,patternrepeat,andweaveforeach fabricspecified.
2.CurtainTrack:Submitsampleassembly notlessthan4incheslongincluded afull-sizecarrier,endcap,andpullout.
D.MaintenanceInstructions:Submitmanufacturer’sprintedinstructionsforcleaningandmaintenance of the products.
1.5PRODUCTDELIVERY,STORAGE,ANDHANDLING
A.Subcontractorshallnotinstallcubicle tracksorcurtainsuntilspacesare enclosedandweatherproof,wetworkinspacesiscompleteanddry,workaboveceilingiscomplete,andambienttemperatureandhumidity conditions aremaintained atthelevelsindicatedforprojectwhenoccupiedforitsintendeduse.
B.Inspectmaterials atdeliverytoassurethatspecifiedproductshavebeenreceivedand arefree of damage.
C.Fieldmeasurements:Verify dimensionsby fieldmeasurementsbefore fabrication.SchedulewithconstructionprogresstoavoiddelayingtheWork.
1.6WARRANTY
A.Provide awrittenwarranty agreeingtorepairorreplacefabriccurtains,hardware ormaterialsdue to faulty workmanshipor installationfor a period ofone(1)year.

2.3FABRICATION
Fabricatecurtainstocomplywiththefollowingrequirements:

B.Width:Equalto tracklengthfromwhichcurtainishungplus 10 percentaddedfullness,butnotlessthan12 inchesof addedfullness.
C.Length:Equaltofloor-to-ceilingheightminus2inchesfrom finishedceiling attop,andminusdistanceabove the finishedfloor atbottomasfollows:
1.CubicleCurtains: 12inches
2.ShowerCurtains: 2inches
D.Construction:Doublelockstitchedtotopofcurtainfabric,with a1-1/4inchwide triplethicktopseam.
E.Grommets: Providenickel-plated ½inchrust-proofgrommetsinsertedinthe tophem ofmesh at 6inchesoncenter.
F.HemConstruction:
1.Mesh Header: Tobe 1-1/2” wide,doublethickanddoublelockstitched.
2.Top FabricHem/MeshFooter: double thickanddoublelockstitchedto meshwith a5/8inchwideseam.
3.BottomHem:Tobe 1-1/4incheswide double thickanddoublelockstitched.
4.SideHems: To be 1-1/4inchwidedoublethickanddoublestitched.

H.FabricRailroading: Fabricsaretobe railroaded whenpossibletoprovideaseamlesscubiclecurtain.Allotherpatternsaretobe patternmatchedand sewnwithverticalseams.
I.“FramedCurtains”(optional): Provide curtainswheretop andsidesofmesh are outlinedwithfabricthatmatchesthebody ofthe curtain.Frameisnottohave any exposedfabricedges.
J.Curtain Snaps(optional):Attopwidthof fabric,rustproofnickel-plateddouble sidedsnapsspacednotmorethan4½”on centerandmachinedinto thetopheaderof the fabric.PlasticCap Snapstobe placed 4 ½” on centerandmachinedinto thefooterof themesh.
Both themesh footerandfabricheaderto bereinforcedwithflameresistantpolyestertwilltape.
K.Maintenancelabels:EachcurtainistohaveaCubeCareCompany labelsewninto thetopfabricseam.LabelindicatesmaterialsmeetStandardsandRegulations,indicatesthesize,numberof grommets,andmaintenancehistory.
PART3–EXECUTION
3.1EXAMINATION
A.Examinesubstrates,adjoiningconstructionandconditionsunderwhichthe workis to beinstalled.The workshallnotproceeduntilunsatisfactoryconditionshave beencorrected.
3.2INSTALLATION
A.Install allmaterialslevelandplumb,accordingtomanufacturer’swritten instructions.
3.3PROTECTION
A.Protectcurtainsfromsoiling or damageafterhanging.
