Job Posting: Content Development Specialist

CSI Global Education Inc. is looking for aContent Development Specialist, to join our team of talented professionals.

Reporting to the Director, Content Development, theContent Development Specialistmanages the content development process for CSI learning products. Content development may include updating or revising existing content, reviewing content authored by other internal or external subject matter experts and writers and /or authoring new content. Content may refer to textbooks, online modules, seminars, webinar/webcast, exam questions or any other delivery format CSI uses. Working in a matrix-based product development structure, the Content Development Specialistmust coordinate workflow and information exchanges across multiple departments and levels and build highly effective working relationships with internal and external team members.

Accountabilities:

  • Collaborate in the development of product specifications and supporting documents which include:
  • Curriculum,
  • Learning Architecture,
  • Raw Content Inventory,
  • Content Development Scoping,
  • Product Description Document/Product Set-Up Template.
  • Develop the plan for content development projects and related schedule.
  • Develop strategy to source or create content.
  • Divide project work into work packages and estimate resources required for each.
  • Development of overall production schedule for content development activities for any given project. Integrate content activities with other departments.
  • Manage production activities for the duration of the project to ensure project timelines are met.
  • Establish and monitor budgets for product development projects.
  • Establish and implement quality assurance standards and processes for related products.
  • Utilize developmental editing process for content creation.
  • Communicate quality standards to external SMEs working on development projects for CSI.
  • Use Style Guide actively in content development and make recommendations for additions to Style Guide as new issues are discovered.
  • Create standards, criteria and schedule for course updates and revisions.
  • Contribute to the development of concepts for new products and/or services to leverage existing courses, programs and/or market segments. Collaborate with internal and external teams to transition concepts through analysis, evaluation and, if successful, implementation.
  • Develop and maintain networks of external resources to assist with product development. This can include, but is not limited to, the following:
  • Participation in social media initiatives through CSI.
  • Attendance at industry and education events and conferences.
  • Management of external resources during development projects.
Qualifications:
  • University degree – Business, Finance, and Commerce are preferred areas of study.
  • Certificate in Adult Education or training is a definite asset if accompanied with the previously defined industry experience.
  • Completion of any CSI course is an asset.
  • +3 years experience in a training and development role ideally within a financial institution.
  • +3 years working in financial services (an asset) in any of the following capacities: Branch Operations, Retail/Business advisory, Compliance, Sales/Marketing, Product Development, Mutual Funds, Small Business, Credit, Deposit Products, Trust/Private Banking/Financial Planning/Wealth Management.
  • Moderate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Must demonstrate flexibility and adaptability.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong team player who works well with others and independently.
  • Proven ability to supervise and direct others to achieve a recognized objective.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Heightened attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Able to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines, while working under pressure.
  • Strong ability to manage stress in a fast paced, always evolving environment.
  • Experience managing projects as a Subject Matter Expert.
