2.  California Control regulations (Title 17) and Syllabus on Radiation Protection

3.  All previously used textbooks

Course Description: Comprehensive review of Radiologic Technology in preparation for State and National Testing.

Course Objectives: 1. Identify factors related to image formation and quality.

2.  Identify the specific sections of CA Regulation Code which govern radiologic standards and safety.

3.  Perform special math functions as they relate to radiology.

4.  List the specific radiographic views required to image the human body.

5.  Identify functions of specific radiographic equipment.

6.  Identify appropriate standards for radiation protection.

Assessment: 1. Tests.

  1. MetaCog of each class test.

2.  Homework

3.  Final Exam (comprehensive).

Note: Each student must receive a ‘C’ or better on the final to pass the course. No make-up exams will be given without prior permission.

Grading: 90 – 100 = A; 80 – 89 = B; 70 – 79 = C

Guidelines: 1. Role will be taken each class session.

2.  Three absences will result in dismissal from class.

3.  Attendance is mandatory for the final.

STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES

The student will be able to:

1.  Recognize common radiographic pathologies as related to major organ systems.

2.  Apply appropriate exposure modifications required to demonstrate common radiographic pathologies.

MetaCog:

After each in class test, the following week will be devoted to a MetaCog of the test. At that time, you will review missed questions and submit a correction along with a citation for the corrections. Each correct answer from the MetaCog will be worth a half point to be added to your total.

Homework Directions

In order to provide a quality review experience, students will be required to complete a homework assignment each week from the Calloway cd-rom or the website RadEasy.com. Each homework assignment will be worth 20 points.

The homework assignment can be on any area of review you select, you should vary your review topics. Each assignment needs to include 50 questions in order to receive credit. No partial credit will be given.
