  • Teacher’s Report:
  • Box Tops raised about $300. Ms. Medina’s class brought in about 500 box tops
  • Nominations
  • Next meeting, May 12th, will be nominations
  • By laws state there needs to be a nomination committee
  • Nominees need to write a mini bio
  • Nicole Petronio stated she would like to have a co-chair running mate
  • Esther Kim and Rania Saba stated they will not be running for next school year
  • Sue Panchery stated she will be running for her VP of Daytime Events for next school year

  • Science Fair – 3/27
  • Yankee Candle Sale 3/23 – 4/1
  • Coin Challenge 4/20 – 4/24 (monies raised to be earmarked for multipurpose room AC) – Voted yes by general body; no nays
  • Pretzel Day 4/16 – Order forms due by 4/1
  • Theater Week 5/11-15:
  • Will be selling tickets, flowers, program space etc.
  • FMS booked for performance
  • Cost $25 for students to participate
  • Performance will be Friday as assembly for school and in the evening at FMS
  • Practice during the week (Monday – Thursday) from 3:30 – 5:30
  • Pick up at 5:30pm
  • Flowers and program space on sale in advance
  • Gertrude Hawk orders will arrive 3/24. Raises about $2500
  • Spring Fling 4/24
  • Will be raffling off a mini iPad to be a door prize
  • There is no budget; ticket sales to cover event

  • Seed Sale – 7 families participated; Garden club will keep 50% of the profits
  • Spiritwear
  • Inventory has been cleared
  • Purchased shirts same shirts as last year for this year’s school trips and field day
  • Not a large profit, but didn’t push families to buy
  • Will start a new campaign for next year
  • Kasey Vaughn presented custom backpacks that could be made with CRS logo and colors. Will most likely sell for about $50. General body wasn’t sure when was a good time to hold sale to the school to get the biggest response, since most families would have purchased book bags in August.
  • Football cup sale – sold all cups and raised $101
  • Spring Pictures – Actual photos were sent home. Families need to pay for what they want to keep and return the others to school
  • Schoola – We filled about 12 extra-large moving boxes with clothing. Website should be up and running soon. We keep 40% of the profits. Can keep track on the website of what’s sold and how much we’ve raised so far. Can order additional bags and send clothes in at any time.
  • Book Fair – Next book fair in April will be BOGO
  • Restaurant Night – Piazza Orsillo’s not a huge response, will get a new night and will combine totals
  • 4th Grade Basketball night
  • Mr. Piro to coach the 4th grade team.
  • Have cheerleaders
  • Need DJ (Dana Turso’s Husband to DJ)
  • Class Trips:
  • 1st Grade: May 1st to Jenkinson Aquarium
  • 3rd Grade: May 28th to Liberty Science Center
  • 4th Grade: May 29th to Sandy Hook/Lenape
  • 2nd Grade: June 3rd to Turtleback Zoo
  • Open Discussion:
  • Jonathan White presented the idea of having a Pokémon Club at CRS
  • Purpose of club: to teach math skills through game play. Similar to chess because need to be strategize against opponent. Teaches sportsmanship and leaderships skills by allowing kids to teach other children in the club when the club expands
  • Will be held ager school and will be advertised through teachers for grades 2 – 3
  • All materials to be purchased by the PTO (~$85 per student) and will remain the property of the PTO to be used every year by club members
  • Next steps: Nicole Petronio and Jonathan White will compile an interest survey to be distributed to students/parents to see who would be interested.
  • Group will start off with 6-10 children.
  • Next Meeting will be May 12th in the CRS Library.
