Queen Victoria-

Born- May 24,1819

Crowned- 1837, she became queen at the age of 18

Married-Prince Albert in 1840

Her husband Prince Albert and her first prime minister Lord Melbourne, taught her how to rule. Her husband and the prime minister taught her about constitutional monarchy .

Constitutional Monarchy is - a form of government in which a king or queen acts as Head of State. The ability to make and pass legislation resides with an elected Parliament, not with the Monarch.

During her marriage she had six children, all of her children married other royal families.

In 1861, Victoria started wearing black for the rest of her time as queen because she lost her loving husband and her principle adviser for state affairs . She wore the black to express her depression.

I would say that Queen Victoria was fit to rule before her husband died because she had an advisor that she truly trusted and was an honest advisor, but after he died she didn’t have a very trusting advisor to help her make decisions. But then again she did well ruling after husband died, so I would say that she was fit to rule.

Before she died she got over he depression, by forming a strong friendship with her last prime minister Marquess Of Salisbury. She was a very respectful queen because she “favored measures to improve the lot of the poor” and “she also supported charities involved in education, hospitals, and other areas. “

She died when she was 64 years old. She died on January 22, 1901.

Queen Elizabeth I-

Born- September 7, 1533

Crowned- November 1558

Married- Elizabeth never married. She never married because she didn’t want to give up making key decisions for the government. She wanted to make the decisions for the government because it was what her father did and she wants to fallow in his footsteps and keep the government the same way as her father. “Elizabeth chose never to marry. If she had chosen a foreign prince, he would have drawn England into foreign policies for his own advantages (as in her sister Mary's marriage to Philip of Spain); marrying a fellow countryman could have drawn the Queen into factional infighting.”(link 1)

When Elizabeth first started out was fit to rule because she never lost focus of her father’s dream for the country. She was also fit to rule because she didn’t just focus on her father’s dream for the country; she also was focused on helping the citizens of the country. She would listen to the citizen’s problems and try to help them. But as her time as queen expanded, so did her wallet. The more time she spent as ruler, her wallet began to diminish because she loved fine jewelry I mean who wouldn’t like some diamonds around their neck or on the hands. When her taste expanded, she ended up leading her citizens into an economic depression. “During Elizabeth's long reign, the nation also suffered from high prices and severe economic depression, especially in the countryside, during the 1590s”(link 1)

Macbeth-

Macbeth was not fit to rule because he was demon possessed. The play shows us that he was demon possessed because he killed Duncan that came to visit him so Duncan wouldn’t have time to kill Macbeth and Macbeth would also expand his kingdom once Duncan was out of the way. Macbeth also killed Banquo because he thought that Banquo would come back and kill Macbeth and let his son Fleance take over Macbeths kingdom because he would of killed Macbeth. So Macbeth hired some hit men basically to go out and kill Banquo and Fleance. Banquo made sure Fleance got away safely but things didn’t end so well for Banquo. Banquo was murdered, which the thought that he killed his best friend Banquo haunted Macbeth until he was killed. With the thought of the murder on his brain, and the hallucinations of seeing Banquo with an axe in his back and a bloody face, drove Macbeth insane. So Macbeth wasn’t fit to rule in the beginning or the end. Macbeth was inane because he was paranoid, which lead him to not become a good king. Macbeth and his insanity also drove his wife insane as well and then she ended up murdering herself because she couldn’t deal with the hallucinations anymore.
