AMBASSADORS

Please plan to attend the training onWednesday, October 4thafter 8th period. Tour training is mandatory for all new and returning ambassadors.

Sign-ups for all High School Nights and October events are available to sign up for on Mr. Gault's desk. There are MANY high school nights so sign up quick. We still need guys to work high school nights this week.

FRESHMEN BASEBALL

There will be a meeting for any freshmen interested in playing baseball in the springon Mondayafter school in the gym immediately after 8th period.

40 DAYS FOR LIFE

This week marks the beginning of the area's 40 Days for Life. The Roman Catholic Pro-Life Club and all who are interested will participate in itnextMonday October 2ndimmediately after school. From3pm to 4pm, we willlead a prayer service to end abortionoutside of the Planned Parenthood on Locust Street. This is a great opportunity for service hours. A person living in the Fox Chase area is looking for a student who would like to do some yard work.

Pierogi Kitchen in Roxborough is hiring part time Pierogi Pinchers.

Sesame Place is now hiring for the Fall and Christmas seasons. See Sr. Jane in the Guidance Office as soon as possible for information about these positions.

HOMECOMING DATE DANCE

The Homecoming Date Dance is scheduled forOctober 7thfrom7-10PM. Information sheets and permission forms are available in the Student Affairs Office or on the school website. All tickets are to be purchased by the end of the school day ofOctober 4th.

PHOTOGRAPHY CLUB

Interested in photography? Want to learn how to take better pictures? Would you like to have your pictures published in the yearbook or newspaper? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you definitely want to join the photography club. Whether you want to be a photographer or a phontographer, this club offers something for everyone. The club's first meeting of the year will be onMonday, October 2ndimmediately after 8th period in room 54.

PSAT

For the PSAT pre-administrationtoday, you will need to bring a number 2 pencil. Also please be sure you know your approximate grade point average and if possible, the highest level of education of your parent or guardian.

RECYCLING PROGRAM

Romanhas started an exciting new recycling initiative! We are looking for student volunteers to collect recyclingon TuesdayandFridaymornings before school. The students will receive service hours. If interested please see Mr. Shanahan or Miss. Kuvik.

ROMAN RUN

We're excited to announce that the 2017Roman Run5K (3.1 miles)will take place onOctober 8, 2017on the historic Boat House Row!

All proceeds benefit Roman Catholic High School Students.

SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions)

SADD will hold its first general membership meeting on Thursday, October 5th after school in Room 17. All are welcome! SADD will not disappoint.

ST. FRANCIS INN

On various Mondays throughout the year, we will be going to St. Francis Inn to volunteer. We are looking for students to volunteer. We leave school around3:30 PMand return around6:45 PM. Students will receive service hours for their work. The sign-up sheet is in the cafeteria next to the microphone. Our first sign up is for October 2nd. If you have any questions please see Miss. Kuvik in Room 65.

UNDERCLASSMEN YEARBOOK PORTRAITS

Underclassman yearbook portraits will be taken next week in the gym during all the lunch periods. Order forms and information are being distributed in homerooms today. Students are asked to bring these order forms and note containing information home and discuss with your parents/guardians.Please return your order form with themoney to the Lifetouch representative at the time yourportrait is taken.

Juniorportraits will be taken onMonday, October 2.-Sophomoreportraits will be taken onTuesday, October -Freshmanportraits will be taken onWednesday, October 4.

Students are reminded to ensure that your hair is neatlygroomed and that you are cleanly shaven.You will be required to have your portrait taken in your WINTER UNIFORM.Please rememberto wear shirt, tie, and sweater on theday that your portraits are scheduled.

WRESTLING

Pre-season lifts and works outs have begun for wrestling on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays in the Annex. It is not too late to still join the wrestling team. If you're interested, attend these work outs. If you're playing a Fall sport but intend to wrestle, see Mr. Gault.

WORLD AFFAIRS CLUB
The World Affairs Club will have its first meeting of the year onTuesday, October 3rd, after school in Room 46. All returning members are asked to please attend this important meeting. Any new students interested in global and international affairs are invited to join the club this year. All are welcome.
