RECORDING BURSARY @ LEIXLIP LIBRARY 2010

The Recording Bursary provides three day recording time in the Recording Studio @ Leixlip Library to the value of € 900. Two awards will be made in 2010. An integral part of the bursary will be working with the Resident House Engineer on how to get the most out of the studio time. It is aimed at

(a) emerging, established & professional musicians wishing to record music

(b) Artists working on music & sound based projects

CRITERIA

Application on official application form only (a), or (b).

The bursary shall include 3 days recording time in the Recording Suite @ Leixlip Library and the successful artist / band will work with House Engineer.

The bursary does not include travel expenses and candidates must make their own travel arrangements

The bursary cannot be passed on to a third party

All recipients of grant assistance under the Recording Bursary Scheme for projects involving children or young people must have appropriate policies in place as regards Child Protection.

Grant aid provided by Kildare County Council must be acknowledged in all publicity material associated with the project. Council logos are available from the Arts Service. Council reserves the right to publicise the awarding of this bursary.

Successful candidates will be asked to provide a short written report outlining their experiences, on completion of the Recording Bursary, to Kildare County Council.

Awards will be made by an independent adjudication panel

All applicants will be advised of Councils decisions in writing.

The payment of a grant is not taken as an indication that the equivalent of any grant will be made to the organiser on another occasion.

Applications for assistance should be made on the official application form including

A declaration of other grants or other assistance received or sought.
Supporting material (e.g. examples of previous recordings (if any), lists of performances, photographs, etc)
