Terms and Conditions for Users

The coach is the person held responsible by RunMaker for behaviour and correct usage of the facilities. The coach must ensure that his/her client (parents/guardians, young cricketers and any other visitors) adhere to the reasonable requirements set out below.

Failure to abide by these rules may result in the cancellation of a coach’s registration

Arriving and leaving Shrewsbury House

RunMaker is committed to ensuring it fully plays its part in maintaining the relationship Shrewsbury House School (SHS) enjoys with its neighbours.

This means that in using the facilities, coaches, parents, young cricketers (and any other visitors) should not in any way inconvenience or disturb the school’s neighbours unreasonably.

Coaches, players and other visitors should arrive and depart from the grounds quietly and should not linger before, or after, their booked sessions.

Parking

Please only park within the marked bays at the front of the school and do not park in any of the reserved bays, as these are frequently used by the school management outside normal school hours.

If you have to park on an adjacent road please note that you must not park on Ditton Road at all and only on the correct side of Langley Avenue. Always park with consideration to SHS’s neighbours, avoiding all parking restrictions as well as respecting entrances to drive-ways and garages.

·  Only the Sports Hall area should be accessed and no other area of the school should be visited, including toilets outside the Sports Hall and the artificial surface.

·  No dogs are permitted on the school site

·  Smoking is not permitted on the school site

·  The grounds must be vacated as soon as possible after the final session of the day concludes; the final session must not go over time nor should any of those engaged in the session linger thereafter

Codes of Conduct of players, coaches & parents

RunMaker is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of those using the nets:

Young cricketers, coaches, and parents should, at all times respect:

·  the facilities and equipment provided to them by RunMaker and Shrewsbury House

·  each others needs in the fulfilment of the coaching session

Behaviour of all parties

·  Users must strictly keep to booked timings for training

·  No foul or abusive language will be permitted at any time

·  Users are not allowed to smoke, consume alcohol or drugs of any kind in the grounds of SHS

Coaches

The essence of good ethical conduct and practice is summarised here. Coaches must:

·  Consider the well-being and safety of participants before the development of performance.

·  Develop an appropriate working relationship with players, based on mutual trust and respect.

·  Make sure all activities are appropriate to the age, ability and experience of those taking part

·  Display consistently high standards of behaviour and appearance

·  Hold the appropriate, valid qualifications and insurance cover

·  Never exert undue influence over performers to obtain personal benefit or reward

·  Must adhere to the guidelines laid down in the ECB’s ‘Safe Hands’ policy on the welfare of children in their care and the ethical behaviours required

Parents/guardians

·  Encourage your child to learn the rules and play within them.

·  Help your child to recognise good performance, not just results.

·  Never force your child to take part in sport.

·  Never punish or belittle a child for making mistakes.

·  Support your child’s involvement and help them to enjoy their sport.

·  Are asked neither to engage with verbally, nor interact with personally, their child whilst receiving coaching as this can be a distraction which can inhibit coach/player concentration.

Concerns/problems

Any incidents or concerns should immediately be brought to the attention of the RunMaker Child Welfare Officer, David Marshall, 07767 685485.

Inside the hall – using the nets

Users of the cricket nets must be vigilant at all times when in the nets and the surrounding area ensuring that they act in a safe manner and use the appropriate protective equipment.

All cricketers/coaches using the nets do so at their own risk.

The following items and actions are NOT PERMITTED at any time inside the Sports Hall:

·  Spiked footwear; muddy shoes or boots, footwear which may mark the flooring

·  Banging of creases by batsmen to mark their guards

·  Scratching of the floor surfaces by bowlers to mark their run-ups

·  Chewing gum and cigarettes

·  Foodstuffs, drink and glasses; water should be consumed outside of the playing area of the hall to avoid accidental spillages

·  Cricket bags (these should be left at the back of the hall)

·  Footballs, rugby balls, bicycles

·  Anyone not involved directly in cricket practice may watch, away from the net area, if it is safe to do so

Clearing up

RunMaker nets may be used all day by many different coaches. We will contact the coach with the last booking of the day requesting that he/she puts the nets, mats and stumps away.

Accidental damage

Damage to equipment or any other part of the sports hall, facilities, amenities, and any other part of SHS must be reported to RunMaker by the coach by email to: , as soon as possible by the coach. No attempt should be made to effect a repair.

Coach Fees and Payments Terms and Conditions

RunMaker offers net lanes to coaches at a very competitive rate. But the offer of ANNUAL REGISTRATION FEE and NET LANE FEE can only be maintained at the published levels if RunMaker is not engaged in the expense of chasing payments.

The terms and conditions below are effective from October 1st 2015 and replace those previously in place.

Bookings, Payments & Cancellations

Bookings

·  Coaches may book nets once they have received email confirmation of their registration (or annual re-registration)

·  Coaches will receive confirmation of booking(s) by email

·  Bookings should be made at the latest before 19.00 on the day before the commencement of any booking

·  Booking by: phone or text: 07775 330475 by email:

Payments

·  RM will only accept payments direct from coaches (RM has no relationship with a coach’s clients)

·  Payment should ideally be made at the time of booking by Bank transfer. Cheques are acceptable.

·  At the end of each calendar month, RM Bookings will email coaches a financial reconciliation of bookings made and cancelled.

o  In the event that any payment is outstanding, payment should be received by RM within 48 hours

o  If payment is not received after 48 hours a charge of 3.5% of the amount outstanding will be passed to the coach for the cost of administration. (This is subject to a minimum charge of £5)

Cancellations

Coaches will appreciate that failure to advise RM that a net has been cancelled may well mean that another young cricketer cannot take up a cancelled slot, so the following policy will be applied without exception:

·  Coaches are required to advise RM with a minimum notice of 24 hours of any cancellation by phone, text or email in order to avoid having to settle the net charge in full (coaches may decide to reclaim such an amount from their client)

·  RM will only accept bookings and cancellations from an RM registered coach
