Purpose of Job / CRI Re-New Criminal Justice Service is an innovative and outcome focused service.
The service provides a range of recovery focused interventions including clinical interventions, in a range of settings, to those who are in the criminal justice system as a result of their substance misuse; Re-New criminal Justice work closely with partners in the Hull treatment system to support recovery from substance misuse and associated criminal or anti social behaviours.
Key to this role will be the ability to motivate and lead a large multi-disciplinary staff team, whilst developing strong relationships with the Commissioning team and key stakeholders including Prison/s, Humberside Probation Trust, Humberside CRC and Humberside Police Authority.
The post holder will be responsible for achievement of service performance against local and national targets including reducing offending and re-offending rates, Improving and sustaining successful exits from treatmentand will manage all aspects of an allocated budget.

Key Activities:

  • Work in close partnership with relevant health, social care, educational and criminal justice providers.
  • Maintain excellent communication with Hull Citysafe and key personnelincluding HMP Hull, Humberside Probation Trust, The CRC and Humberside Police Authority.
  • Provide line management and ensure regular and effective supervision and appraisal to the staff team.
  • Provide ongoing learning and development opportunities to the staff team within time and financial constraints.
  • Ensure delivery of quality services in line with the Local and National strategy and best practice
  • Ensure provision of interventions is delivered in line with CRI integrated governance structures and best practice.
  • To ensure services are provided across a range of operational locations as designated by the contract
  • Represent CRI in a range of local and regional forums
  • Utilise recording and statistical systems to collate data and to ensure that all administration, cases recording, written reports etc, are maintained to high standards.
  • Ensure all service targets and milestones are achieved.
  • Ensure that servicesare run within allocated budget

Person Specification

Essential criteria:

  • Experience of staff supervision
  • Experience of Service Management
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team
  • Experience within the substance misuse, health or mental health field with a clear understanding of the need for and ability to deliver quality service
  • Ability to liaise effectively with other agencies and build effective joint working relationships
  • The ability to work to output and financial constraints and deadlines
  • A demonstrable understanding of performance management frameworks, effective governance and quality management.
  • Experience of managing project development and leading a service operation
  • Experience of working within contracts, service agreements and service delivery systems
  • Well developed leadership skills
  • Experience of working with data collection systems
  • Experience that demonstrates administrative and financial management skills
  • Possess, or be willing to work towards a recognised qualification in management & leadership.
  • Well-developed communication skills with the ability to influence and persuade key personnel to improve practice and quality
  • A commitment to, working positively in partnership with a range of statutory and voluntary agencies.

  • A recognised qualification in health and social care management
  • Excellent knowledge of drugs and alcohol and their effects
  • Excellent knowledge of drug treatment within the criminal justice system
  • Knowledge of the needs of different communities in relation to substance misuse
