PRESS RELEASE

CRETA FARMS ENTERS THE AUSTRALIAN MARKET

Creta Farms is starting to export its top quality olive oil to Australia, after striking a major deal with Agora Merchandising Group, a powerful player in the Oceania market.

Creta Farms is entering the olive oil business through the Australian market, which is the 15th market in its network, launching its top quality Creta Farms Olive Oil.

The new cooperation begins in July 2011 and initially it concerns the export of 7 codes of packaged olive oil under the Creta Farms brand. Creta Farms olive oil will be distributed to supermarkets, delicatessens and the HORECA channel by the Agora Merchandising Group. At a later stage, the cooperation will expand to include the deli meats category, following the successful recipe Creta Farms has applied in the other international markets it entered.

The new deal expands the network of countries where Creta Farms is operating to 15, while in the future the distribution network is expected to include all of Oceania. Furthermore, realizing its vision and commitment for the promotion of the nutritional value of Cretan olive oil, it enters, for the first time, the very competitive olive oil market with a highly competitive product. The creation of top quality olive oil products is the natural development of the long and deep knowledge acquired by the company about extra virgin Cretan olive oil, as the main ingredient of its innovative En Elladi line of products.

The President of Creta Farms, Mr. Emmanouil Domazakis, commented on the deal, saying: «Our actions prove that we continue our dynamic course in the international market. The Commonwealth of Australia, the sixth geographically largest country in the world, constitutes a real challenge for Creta Farms, since it is a developing market with 30 million consumers, a strong Greek community and a quickly rising olive oil consumption rate, which in the last two years alone reached 20%. Our entrance in the Australian market signifies a landmark in our company history, since we are creating a new line of products from extra virgin olive oil and we are exporting it, faithful to our commitment for the promotion of its unique nutritional value

Agora Merchandising Group holds a leading position in the Oceania market, since it is one of the biggest importers and distributors of food and beverages in retail shops, super markets and delicatessens, as well as to the food service/catering sector. Among the many products imported and distributed by Agora Merchandising are many known Greek brands, such as AYRA mineral water, Amita juices, ΕΨΑ and LOUX soft drinks and CRAFT beer.

Mr. Apostolos Iliopoulos, Marketing Director of the Agora Merchandising Group, also commented on the deal: «Our cooperation agreement with Creta Farms falls within our global strategy of selecting partners of international business caliber with innovative, quality products. We are certain that all Australians and not only the Greek Community, will embrace Creta Farms’ olive oil, for its exceptional flavor and prime quality that only the Mediterranean Cretan land can offer.»

It should be noted that in January 2011, the company struck a deal with Italian firm ‘Grandi Salumifici Italiani S.P.A’ (GSI), the largest deli meats company in Europe, through which it gains access to the Italian, Swiss, Austrian, Slovenian and Croatian markets.

Creta Farms, a 100% Greek company that started out in Crete, has become the largest and most specialized meat and deli meats group of companies in Greece today. The group has presence in 14 countries (Greece, USA, Spain, the Scandinavian and Baltic countries, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Slovenia and Croatia) while it has patented its products in 90 countries. Creta Farm’s goal is to play a major role in the worldwide trend for healthy eating, producing innovative products that reinforce the image of Greek companies worldwide.
