Credit Union Cherry Blossom 10 Mile Run - April 2nd, 2017

Timer Instructions

Team assignments:

* Lead for Timing Team: Rob Levinsky (who will run a 4th watch for each race and handle gathering results sheets and stop watch photos)

* 3-person team timing the Women's Elite Race: Brett Shelley, Karina Stetsyuk and Jayla Harris

* 3-person team timing the Men's event: Jeremy Dow, Jim Dare and Michael Webb

* Backup Timers for both events: Jackie Mangogna, Amy Dow and Dixie Levinsky

Job assignment:

1. You will each individually run a stop watch from the start of your event (either Women's or Men's) until its first finisher crosses the line.

2. USATF rules dictate that the "time shall be taken from the flash/smoke of a pistol or approved apparatus to the moment at which any part of a competitor's body (ie the "torso", as distinguished from the head, neck, arms, hands, legs or feet) reaches the perpendicular plane of the nearer edge of the finish line.

3. You will then be asked to record your time on two (2) forms that will be provided and sign each form.

4. Place your stop watch displaying the finish time you recorded on top of one of your signed forms and photograph it so the stop watch display and your hand written time are visible; this photograph is most easily taken with a cell phone.

5. Return both copies to Bee McLeod (CUCB Head Referee).

If you are assigned to the Women's Elite Race, their schedule follows:

7:05 AM - Elite Women are escorted to the starting line

7:18 AM - Elite Women's start

8:09 AM - anticipated finish of the first Elite Woman

As such, you should be positioned on or at the Start Platform at 7:05 AM

If you are assigned to the Men's Elite Race, their schedule follows:

7:15 AM - Elite Men are escorted to the starting line

7:30 AM - Elite Men's start

8:15 AM - anticipated finish of the first Elite Man

As such, you should be positioned on or at the Start Platform at 7:15 AM

General Information:

1. Please check in with me race morning by 6:45 AM at the corner of Jefferson Ave. and 15th Street on the "Finish Line Medical" side. I will have your credentials, race shirts and any last minute information.

2. If you have Under Armour running/athletic shoes or warm weather gear, wear them. If not, DO NOT wear another brand of shoes or have logos of other athletic apparel visible. Wear unbranded street shoes. We are in one of the most visible areas of the event and wearing a brand other than Under Armour is not advisable. If need be, place tape over logos of brands other than Under Armour.

4. Included is a copy of the Staging Area for the event. This map will help you find where to check in, where you will be positioned during the event, etc.

5. Please put some buffer time in your travel schedule to the event Sunday morning. Allow for the unexpected! It is critical you are here on time (6:45 AM); the race starts on the dot at 7:18AM and you need to be in position well in advance of that time!
