CRANBROOK MINOR HOCKEY JULY 24TH BOARD MEETING MINUTES

Attendees: Chris Huston, Andrea Manning, Tracey Reid, Johnny Fiorentino, Ray Dube, Kevin Doll, Jeff Fancy, Jason Jacob, Shawn Byram, Heather McMahon, Craog Sterzer, Bobby-Jo Hekob

Call to Order- 7:04pm

OLD BUSINESS

(a): Vacant Board Position is available if Grant would like a spot on the board. 1st Jason Jacob, 2nd Ray Dube

(b):Female Program: Midget girls will keep their ice in Cranbrook as there are 21 girls registered- Chris reports a positive meeting

-ice time for sure in Kimberley / Marysville on Sunday evening and Tuesday evening

possibly more if there is no PeeWee team.

Chris and Curtis are looking for openness about the ice for transparency. Bantam girls should have a morning practice like all other Bantam teams. As Kimberley’s numbers solidify, we will know more about available slots.

Ray will get ice slots from Kimberley for Tracey R for the Alberta League deadline.

-5 per team

Chris H will get ice slots from Tracy Kelly

-5 per team

Cranbrook will come up with 5 ice slots

NEW BUSINESS

-Kevin would like to implement a monthly newsletter on the CMHA website, may need some funds to purchase a template, this is fine with everyone.

-Coaches without kids on team- can they be reimbursed?

Board agreed one coach per team without a child on the team would be eligible for reasonable reimbursement on accommodations, meals and fuel.

-Team financing

Rob has ledgers for every team and is developing an accounting system that is simple to use. The managers / coaches will get books when they have sat down and had a little tutorial on how to use them properly and have signed off.

-COACH APPLICATIONS

Board approved all interview candidates so Grant can get started early in August

Grant will have ameeting with evaluators to make sure they are all on same page and policy is followed. Grant hopes for better communication with coaches this year.
