Rules and Regulations

The trips are closely chaperoned and all rules and regulations will be enforced during the entire trip. Any violation will result in the student’s dismissal from the ski club and possible suspension from school. Remember that participants are skiing or snowboarding at their own risk and the ISD #11 is not liable.

  1. Disobeying a chaperone or bus driver’s instructions or showing disrespect to a chaperon or bus driver.
  2. Breaking rules set forth by the ski area or endangering the safety of self or others.
  3. Damaging or stealing private or public property.
  4. Possession or use of any tobacco products or use of alcoholic beverages or drugs.
  5. Late arrivals at the bus departure time from the ski area. This is a serious matter for it makes everybody late and causes a lot of anxiety for waiting parents.
  6. Leaving the ski area without permission or notifying a chaperone.
  7. Profanity or vulgar language.
  8. Inappropriate behavior such as playing roughly and so on.
  9. Not helping clean up the bus at the end of the trip.

Advisors and Chaperones

The Champlin Park High School’s ski and snowboard club’s advisor is Mr. Kerber. Mr. Kerber teaches math at CPHS. Mr. Kerber’s classroom is located in B225. There will be various other parents, teachers, and administrators chaperoning each trip. Feel free to e-mail or call Mr. Kerber if you have any questions or want to volunteer:

Parents

Thank you for providing support for the skiers and snowboarders. Also, thanks for providing transportation for your son or daughter to and from Champlin Park High School. Without parent support we would not be able to have a ski/snowboard club at CPHS! If you are interested in joining the group on a Friday night trip or a weekend trip, please contact Mr. Kerber at so that you can get the appropriate volunteer paperwork on file.

Club Fee

All students are required to pay an annual $20.00 administration fee. The fee should be included on the same check as the student’s first trip payment. This money should be dropped off in the Activities Office or B225. This fee covers a club t-shirt, the administration cost, and will be used as an emergency fund. Please make checks out to Champlin Park High School and write the students name in the memo. If you are paying in cash please pay with the exact amount.

Ski/Snowboard Drop Off for Friday Mornings

Skis/snowboards may be dropped off the morning of the trip starting at 6:45am in B225. All of the equipment will be locked up during the day. Each skier/snowboarder will be responsible for picking up their equipment at the end of the school day and bringing it to the bus.

Payment and Registration for Trips

All registration must be turned in before schools starts on Wednesday morning during the week of the scheduled one day trip!!! Registration during the school day will not be accepted! Mr. Kerber will accept registration for each trip in the Activities Office or in his room (B225). The deadline for registration is before 1st hour begins on Wednesday morning the week of the trip. When paying with cash please pay with the exact amount.

  • Please make checks out to Champlin Park High School and write the name of the skier/snowboarder in the memo.
  • Also include any rental or lesson fees in the payment and make a note on the memo line for if skis or a snowboard will be rented.
  • The first 40 skiers and snowboarders will be guaranteed a spot on the bus, so bring your checks in early and sign up!!!

Bus Departure

There will be a coach bus transporting us to our location. The bus will leave from CPHS and return to door W2 (tennis courts side of building). It will be greatly appreciated by the chaperones and the skiers/snowboarders if their ride is waiting at the school when the bus returns. Thank you.

Weather and Safety

We do not like to make cancellations but on rare occasions we will for the safety of participants. We will cancel a trip if the driving conditions are too hazardous or if the temperature is too cold. As a general rule, a trip will be cancelled if the temperature is five to ten degrees below zero. The skiers/snowboarders should listen to school announcements or the Rebel Report regarding cancellations. In case of a cancellation checks will not be cashed or can be transferred over to the next trip. All participants are highly encouraged to use a helmet on the slopes. Participants are especially encouraged to use a helmet when doing rails or jumps. Remember to ski and snowboard within your own limitations.

Refund Policy

Refunds of the LIFT TICKET ONLY will be granted if the skier/snowboarder is absent from school the day of the trip. The skier/snowboarder must present a note from his/her parent/guardian in order to collect the lift ticket refund or reschedule the trip. The skier/snowboarder may reschedule the refund towards the next trip of choice. Please bring this to Ms. Witchger before school or in the Activities Office the following Monday or Tuesday. The bus is already paid for so it is impossible to refund this fee.

There will be no refunds for the package deal holders if the skier/snowboarder misses one trip. If multiple trips are missed, the lift ticket amount will be refunded for those additional trips missed.
