CP BIOLOGY PROJECT - AmatuzziPHOTOSYNTHESIS STORYBOOK
70 points
This is an optional project. You may work with one or two partners, but understand that regardless of the division of work, all partners receive the same grade. Due dates are FIRM.
Date Assigned: FRI. MARCH 21 Date Due : TUE. APRIL 8 (D day)
Create a book that summarizes and illustrates the chemical process of photosynthesis in the context of a story or theme. Your story should be geared to high school level – do not oversimplify.
Review textbook chapter on photosynthesis. Search the web for clear and simplified diagrams to use.
Criteria:
a)Must be in context of an original story and told/explained in your own words.
b)Should include at least some of your own original drawings, diagrams, or cartoons, but they must clearly show the process.
c)You may include other pictures from the web or other sources.
d)Every page should have at least one picture on it.
e)Pictures must be different from the ones I provide in class, and must relate to the text on the page.
f)Text must be typed in large font (ex. At least size 14 font for Ariel)
g)Make and illustrate a sturdy cover page - use oaktag, posterboard, etc.
- must have title, author(s) and a picture.
h)Assemble as a sturdy book – no loose or stapled papers accepted.
Topics to include:
a)Show chloroplasts inside a plant cell and show inside a chloroplast, label the different parts and identify the set of reactions that takes place in each part
b)Diagram clearly and explain the light reactions
- Show what happens to absorbed energy
- Show what is used and what is made
- Explain why water is split and where the atoms go.
c)Diagram and explain the Calvin cycle
- Show how carbon dioxide is used
- Show how glucose is made
