1 / Course Objectives:
  1. Students will attain a level of basic computer awareness--how computers work, how computers are controlled, the impact of computers in education and physical education.
  2. Students will receive hands-on experience with a number of general applications-- word processing, spreadsheets.
  3. Students will be introduced to the area of telecommunications and networking, and their application to physical education.
  4. Students will receive hands-on experience with a number of physical education applications-- physical fitness assessment, diet analysis, game statistics, game simulation, computer assisted learning, scheduling, reaction time tests and motion analysis.

To know how to perform basic operations with Excel spreadsheets.
To know how to perform basic operations with MS word.
To know how to perform basic operations with MS Power Point.

  • Meaning, need and importance of information and communication technology (ICT).
  • Application of Computers in Physical Education
  • Components of computer, input and output device
  • Application software used in Physical Education and sports

5 / Module II: MS Word
o Introduction to MS Word
o Creating, saving and opening a document
o Formatting Editing features Drawing table ,
o page setup, paragraph alignment, spelling and grammar check printing option, inserting
page number, graph, footnote and notes
6 / Module III : MS Excel
o Introduction to MS Excel
o Creating, saving and opening spreadsheet
o creating formulas
o Format and editing features adjusting columns width and row height understanding
charts.
7 / Module IV :MS Power Point
o Introduction to MS Power Point
o Creating, saving and opening a ppt. file
o format and editing features slide show , design , inserting slide number
o picture ,graph ,table
o Preparation of Power point presentations
8 / Teaching methods include readings, lectures, group discussions, exercises, and assignments.Lectures are designed such that ensure greater students participation.
